I really hate the idea of having to camp land. The price? I don't mind, I can start saving and such. But if I spend months farming and when I get there all L-sized patches of land are sold out? Doesn't seem fair.

SE might say this, but its obvious that people with capped gil will be able to buy them before other plays. And if the amount of land is limited... its basically you have the money on release, or you lucked out.

I would be worried if i watch out of the Window and all of the Houses with their Gardens and additional Land would look the same and would have the same Size. Damn you Realism D:

It has already been said that as one 'instance' fills up, new ones will be made, so that's just 3 plots for each 'town'. There could be 50 towns honestly.
Still, i'm gonna go mine ores obsessively until i can afford my own mansion.

Don't worry about availability; as soon as the three are sold in every town instance, a whole new town instance will appear on the housing list. If you want to see this system in action at the moment, have a look at LotRO. Works well.

oh I see. when I saw the video I remember hearing something like that but I thought they had to manually add more instances. Well that settles that!

There's nothing wrong with competition for something you want lol. First come first serve, it may instance (why not throw the entire world into an instan...oh they are planning to do that too) but if not, we know nothing about the Housing system beyond it's comparable to DQX's..so there may not even be a true incentive on getting a large house in XIV till we know what all housing really does in this game.

I wonder if those L plots will be more then 1mil? Since the redenomination that is (10mil in 1.0)... I hope not.

Has to be taxes on the lands then - (no idea if there is right now) if there are no taxes and there is first come first serve.


That is.. really.. really.. lame, and isnt really competition (the "competition" is about the 5 seconds it takes daddy war bucks and his max gil to log on and click buy).

(taxes so you can lose your land, but I think everyone will think losing your house and land is also really lame lol)

If it does work that way, then down the line you're going to start seeing instances with just 3 L-sized houses and nothing else. What about the other sized spots? I'm curious if they also must fill up first before the new instance is created.
