Do you think SE should have a free to play AND a subscription model for ARR?

FF14 for 14 days, that should be the trial, while doing that you can't have more than like 10k gil / trade / shout / send a tell more than once every 30 seconds (If at all hello RMT I'm looking at you) cannot use the mailbox, Cannot talk in say more than once every 30 seconds and other such restrictions.

Myself and many players do not want it to go free to play for a multitude of reasons.

It's crazy, that these gamers who pay $30-$60 for one offline game (price depending on console system) and with that amount you pay to buy a game you can beat in few hours to 1 month, you could be using that money toward FFXIV ARR 2.0 for 3-6 months!

Instead of buying a bunch of console games, let's say 2 new PS3 games you could be playing a whole year worth of FFXIV ARR!

So stop being a cheapskate and use your brain people! There's a reason why it's probably never gonna be F2P for a brand name like Square Enix and the Final Fantasy franchise. Maybe in 10 years or so they may adopt F2P but I doubt it. Unless they go the way of Blizzard's Diablo III...which I think is stupid and it might turn off people big time.

As for 30 day trial that's freaking long enough for free play to make up your mind and say, okay I'll subscribe for at least 2 months and go from there since I like this game. If you don't like enough to pay $13 a month, go play your F2P game.

The same people who wants FFXIV to be F2P are highly likely that they feel entitled to everything handed to them in a Platinum platter with +1 BBQ sauce and not just the moon but the entire solar sytem planets and moon.

FFXIV 1.0 crashed and was a huge mistake from SE that's why it went F2P which makes sense.

When s.o. is going to play the game for more than 20 hrs a month (thats 5 hrs/week), the sub fee is fine imo.
when you play much less, choose F2P.
