Yes Voodoo, sadly, but hey atleast it'll probably be good right?
No date has been announced officially, and it will not until Yoshida says the game will be ready. No release dates are to be believed until Yoshida or a community rep announces it. We will probably hear here before fansites.
It might not be technically announced but it's the only logical release date at this point anyways. They're two months and two weeks behind schedule. Beta doesn't start until the end of January/Early Feb and they're going to need about 4 months after that. They did like 68 days with 1.0 and weren't satisfied last time. It's not coming until June on for sure. I would place bets on that.
Summer makes the most sense considering not only are they behind but they confirmed the beta would start around February but we also know how Alpha was supposed to have started Late September to Early October and obviously they will need to take time to make adjustments and so on so forth after beta.
Not to mention, per PDF they stated they wanted to have certain things done by March 2013, or when they "expect" certain things done, which means if they're behind by 2 months, that already dumps that date by may..given a month of fine tuning, that puts it as June, which is a summer month in a lot of the world.
Awkward...most information we get about ARR has come out of a 3rd party medium like Famitsu or 4gamer, which is what fansites are...3rd party mediums passing on information. No we won't hear about it here "first", we'll hear about it first from interviews with magazines/fansites, then we hear about it here sometime later.
That's where most of the ARR information came from..magazine interviews, information still not even reflected on the official website.

Let's look at the roadmap, Version 2.0 free trial period (ie release) was slated for Jan, a 2 month 2 week delay would put that release around March-April (March if they were planning on an early Jan release, and April for an end of Jan release)
The summer release is based on speculation, people playing the ARR alpha have said that it plays more like a beta so the game is a lot more polished than 1.0 alpha (which was terrible, I know I was there) which means they may need a lot less time than the 1.0 beta.
It's not just 1.0 took this long so ARR will need that long, you have to look at the bigger picture.
Of course I could be completely off here, but from what Yoshida has said and I have seen from videos, rather than comparing a completely different game.
Post January 2013 doesn't mean the date is Janurary 2013. Btw, it's November, where's my PS3 Beta?
Much like in XI, they're clearly not on the timeline track anymore, so since we have 1 more week of November and we already know that they wanted PC Alpha to last a month at least..we haven't event started PS3 Alpha..yet we should have been testing PS3 beta right now.
So the date was never set, however...if they expect beta to start end of jan-early feb (how'd alpha end of sept-early oct go?) I highly..highly doubt they expect only 1 month of beta testing when that's the actual content testing.
They have already said they had issues with the PS3 version, also the PC version is priority right now, to get existing players in.Post January 2013 doesn't mean the date is Janurary 2013. Btw, it's November, where's my PS3 Beta?

Also a Sept alpha test, guess what Nov, is you guessed it 2 months after Sept, so yeah 2 months behind behind schedule. and 2 months behind schedule would also mean PS3 beta will be 2 months late.
You get it 2 months behind schedule, not 2 month's behind schedule, you should learn to read what Yoshida says.
Just incase you didn't hear THEY ARE 2 MONTHS BEHIND SCHEDULE, ADD 2 MONTHS TO ANY OLD DATES YOU SEE!!!!!
They said they're behind schedule by two months + two weeks. That's the only timeframe they gave, ever. Everything else is wild speculation from people that have no idea of the market, rumor mongering or wishful thinking.
Most information of that relevance comes to magazines and websites through press releases.
There has been absolutely no mention of a release date or timeframe in any press release by square enix, whether it's Japan, US and Europe (I receive all three).
At polygon they don't even know the official title of the game (lol at FINAL FANTASY 14 ONLINE: A REALM REBORN), I wouldn't count on em for anything else, honestly.
They got wind of the same sex marriage controversy only two days ago, and that says a whole lot on how on top they are on the relevant news on the game.
The only way this release window info would have any credibility, would be if it was on famitsu itself, as part of the interview. Unfortunately my copy isn't here yet, so I can't confirm it. But I seriously doubt it.
If something this relevant was released in Japan, even as part of an interview, it would be all over the net by now. Absolutely no Japanese site (including Famitsu itself) made any mention of it.
This is not to say that the game can't come out this summer, but I wouldn't expect this kind of news to come with any credibility from a western website first, and even more so from one that quite evidently doesn't follow this game with any kind of precision.
