    What do you celebrate on the thankgiving day? A day... to give... thanks?

    It's... complicated. A lot of cultures celebrate a bountiful harvest with a feast before the winter months. You tend give thanks to the powers that be for these things.

    In the US, the tradition changed a bit when our harvests were ANYTHING but bountiful and the natives really did us a solid by giving us their surplus and teaching us some survival skills. This would go on to be pretty much the only shining example of colonial - native relations.

    Lincoln made it an official holiday way later and brought the God part front and center, but long story short - winter's coming and everything's dying, so let's all eat a lot and remind ourselves of the good things in life.

    Amen to that. I look forward to this day alllll year! My step-dad is American yet my mom is Canadian, so we get to celebrate it twice! Consume ALL the dodos!
