Seriously 3-5 minute repop on NMs?

Is it seriously such a big problem that you will wear the same gear as someone your level for a few days? In FFXI every freaking Paladin had a Koenig set sooner or later, who cares? No matter what they do there is going to be a certain item that is going to be the best in slot, so everyone will aim to get that. There is nothing you can do to avoid that.

It's rank 30-35 stuff, it wouldn't make the SLIGHTEST sense to make people camp for hours upon hours for something they're going to outlevel in a few days. I'm not sure what part of this is unclear.

Lizzy boots were level 7, and for many jobs they were good all the way up to the 60s or 70s.

None of the gear released today compairs right now. It might if they remove Point Allotment and balance out stats to where 2 or 3 points of STR could mean 5-10 points of extra damage per hit which would cut an entire minute off fighting a monster at your level.

But in XIV 2-3 points of STR is nothing. Its like 2 points of damage.

Abriael said the drop rate was so low as to reduce that. But then you guys decided that the drop rate should be high because it's only low level gear.

So that brings me back to: everyone will be wearing the exact same thing.

Unfortunately this happens in every MMO, unless of course they eventually offer some kind of 'outfit' system.

Does any of the current NMs drop anything at all that you can use at level 50 (best in slot for a certain class)?

If yes, then your point is valid and they should increase the timer.
If no, you have no idea what you are talking about and should stop crying.

Who decided that exactly? I'm quite curious to see how many people will actually camp those nms to get all the drops. Most people will just kill em when they come across them, given the the low drop rate and the fact that the items aren't be all, end all.

nope. no r50s gear was found in .dat mining and he has no idea what he is talkin about and should stop crying.

those NMs drop equip that is on par with gear you can craft, just like the leve quest nms.
they are easy to access, and have a decent drop rate, that gear is for nothing else then looks.
i think it's okay this way.
i still wish to get nms in the future to drop equip that will last you for a longer time because of their add stat, like the emperor hairpin for a bunch of classes, or the leaping boots.

but with the current system, and stats practically doing nothing but looking good, there will be no nms that would be worth killing.
a dodore doublet goes for 7 mil, but is crap.
a templars haubergeon goes for 3-5 mil, yet is weaker then a vintage haub.

i belive that FFXIV will head more into the instanced NM direction.
like limbus or dynamis.
you won't be able to access the the dungeon every day, but atleast you will have a chance on a drop since you don't have ppl to compete with.

still.i wish for SE to drop this physical lvls, give equip good stats and perhaps some haste here, some critical there, you know, make gear worth working for actually.

i can't be assed to kill some NMs currently that require more then 4 ppl.
why waste my faction standings on equip that doesn't come close to crafted equip? nah, i don't understand it.
untill this very thing isn't fixed it's just not worth my time imo.
i'll be grinding and crafting and waiting for a more enjoying game.

Yeah, pretty much, The only reason they are so popular right now is because they are new.
