Well - I want whats in the Letter from the Producer III also. It just seems like there has been little update to that roadmap in the last two months (and I understand that there was a major catastrophe in the middle of that). But I appreciated the use of the roadmap, and showing progression against it. Sadly, Yoshi seems to have abandoned what I found to be a useful tool to follow the status of development activities. Letters from the Producer seem to have degraded starting with "musings from the airplane" and gone downhill from there.

We've definitely crossed some items off both the Nov Tanaka list and the February Yoshi list, but it's a lot harder to see what the expectations are for the team when we just get the "trust us, new stuff soon" type of thing in the last few letters.

The Grand Companies do seem quite interesting: perhaps a more party-oriented story-scenario feature? But I wonder if they may end up just as more forgettable NPC quests in reality.

Time is pressing on and FFXIV still fails to really offer much beyond the armory system and nice graphics. Hmm.

You obviously haven't played WoW for a while.

This is one update. Give them a chance??? How about start panicking when they say they're happy with the game, and there are still problems with it.

Are you guys serious? Tanaka didn't get call in September telling him the deadline is in a couple weeks, he knew long before, so the failures of the game fall on his shoulders. Furthermore, this game has been released for over 6 months now and it still has no content, so on top of the fact that the game was buggy, lame and generally crappy at release, they didn't even have much in the works for it at that point in terms of content - this tells me that they realistically thought that people would be completely happy with guildleves...they're delusional and I still hate guildleves and how central a role they play in the game. Tanaka sucks, period. I loved FFXI but he didn't make an FFXI he made a broken and a half of a game that is FFXIV and I don't want to play any more of his games no matter what they are.

On top of this, I don't care who is at the helm to be honest (apart from Tanaka). Yoshi-P isn't the second coming of Christ, he's not special because "he connects with the fans", he's a SE employee and he's doing what's told of him. Trust me, the old dev team and the new dev team are one and the same save for a few people and any additions to the team over time (which happen whether Tanaka or whoever was leading, not because they needed fresh faces) - you can bet that Tanaka is still very much involved with this game. Anyway, you guys need to be patient, this game is in beta still and the one time you can truly judge it is at PS3 release.

ya playing it quit few weeks ago got bored of it. i don't know why we can't meet somewhere in the middle here causal are running the show i get it but i bet if they add hardcore stuff casual would be like hell no and SE would make it more casual then it just mess the point of it being hardcore

casual need to meet hardcore somewhere in the meddle if not we just going to get more players talking bad about the game even tho that going to happen matter what SE does.

Just think about it for a moment, all these things you are asking Yoshida to implement are things that Tanaka didnt not create or completely screwed up.

Most of that five years was finishing up the engine. Nobody can say for certain how much time they truly had at their disposal.

But anyway, I just wanted to say that I agree FFXIV did meet total failure upon release. But the release was of course rushed, even Yoshi said so. The FFXIV at release had massive potential. Now, under Yoshi, that potential seems to shrink. Don't you agree?

-Focus on instances instead of open-world where all players play together.
-Auto attack instead of combat where position and actions are supposed to matter.
-NPC quests with no sense of adventure.

I don't know, it just seems like the goal of FFXIV originally seemed a lot more inspirational than the one they have now.
