Honestly, I think that when and if the development team gets around to a DirectX 11 (11.1) patch in the future, ARR will possibly look just as good. I believe so, but jeebus, look at the grass on that Skyrim with 100 mods. Could ARR look like that in the future? O_O

I'm sure we have DX11 but we wont have DX11.1 seeing how that really just for 3D and does not add much to games. But i don't think you every get to see FFXIV looking like that for one reason and one reason only this is a MMO and a hell of a beast computer something maybe 2-3 top of the line video card and liquid nitrogen cooling to make sure that bad boy does not overheat lol a mmo is way diff then a one player game sadly

World detail isn't the servers job. Thankfully. Which is one of the main argument elements of "why did SE removed immersive animations" - rather just make them an option lol.

Though for your PC it is something extra your computer needs to think about (talking to the server). The distance and or the density of the grass screenshots is a bit insane but you could get similar on moderate pcs (cut the grass range by half I'd say).

There are mods for everything.. :P. Though setting up the mods can take a few hours lest you turn up with a shit ton of collisions and bugs.

they say it has the power of ps5, but only the best of the best computers will be able to handle anything close to what it could be.
So I believe we got a long time before we see something like those graphics in an mmorpg.
Also Yoshi P said there will be future upgrades in the graphics that direct x is their next big milestone.
