    1. HOLY BATMAN WALL-O-TEXT!!!
    2. Never going to happen, your ideas for control is straight out of the action game genre without consideration for MMO gameplay. Most MMO are not twitch-based games, and no, you can't have both twitch and non-twitch game mechanic operating in tandem, there would be no way to balance it without turning one of the two into irrelevancy, and thus a waste of resource.

    3. Who gives two **** about what others think? you like a game? play it, there's no need to justify it to other people.

You put out a bunch of things you think would be neat in a game you'd like to play, but frankly you haven't given it all that much thought as to how it would actually integrate and function in a MMO.

You're definitely looking into the wrong genre if this is what you want out of games...

Man, talk about a rude awakening well now that I've beat my insomnia I can reevaluate with a clear head! ^^; Let me simplify my post because even I don't want to read that.. I know that the controls for an MMO have certain standards now created by successful games in the past, I am not asking to reinvent the wheel, actually all my ideas are suggestions for alternative styles, just like how we can already remap our keyboard, why not give gamers that don't like that style an option? Resources being wasted, well.. that's like your opinion man
My main problem which I'm sure they are addressing with updates and expansions, is other game content besides leveling and acquiring fancy gear. I would like more mini games, and that is a great way to incorporate motion controls, and touch screen controls.. trying to not remake a wall of text.. if you want more details, read my wall of text

Indeed, you're not asking to reinvent the wheel, you're asking to replace the wheels with cinder blocks.

It's not something so simple as "throwing another option" out there. For starters, it would be something limited to console players only, as there is no equivalent motion tech for PC users. Second, it brings little to the table outside of short-term novelty at best. Sure, it may be cool to "hammer" away while crafting for a bit, now imagine doing that for thousands of items. The overwhelming majority of players wouldn't even bother, as it's a whole lot of work to imitate a single press of the A button. And no, you can't add any additional functionality or tie any game mechanic to it, as it's not a input device that's available to everyone.

This is magnified thousand-fold when you start talking about combat. Twitch based combat via motion controller simply requires a fundamentally different combat system than the timer-based system in use today. Trying to combine the two is like trying to have a strategy game that is a RTS AND turn-based at the same time - not gonna happen.

You're still approaching the issue as if FF14 is a single player game, it's not.

I thought people figured out how to use motion controllers for the PC already? I hear you but I don't really mean to use it for main gameplay if you don't want to, the only thing i think it would work for in main gameplay is puzzles which is really mainly why i would use touchscreens.. motion controls could be used for the golden saucer, like steering your chocobo in the races. I guess I would say that if the game is going on the wii u then my ideas would be useful for that, and since ps3 and xbox always follow up with whatever nintendo is doing then those controls would be more used in home systems then the pc.. I don't think it would be a bad thing if it was seemlessly integrated in some ways Some people won't use it and that's fine but to say no one really plays solo on an mmo is not true(forever alone ; It's not something to replace playing with friends tho, its actually the opposite. I personally would love to kill time in the golden saucer with or without friends with touch screen puzzles or mini games. I get it tho, its not what any mmo is really about right now..

most of the time (not all the time, but most) motion controls are nothing more than a gimmick and don't really add anything to the experience. There are a few games out there that have executed motion controls in a way that feels natural and effective, but I'd rather not gamble on SE being able to pull that off. Keep it Simple.
