LOL. It's funny how some people live in the delusion that any sizable percentage of the wow playerbase doesn't like this feature. It's false as it can get, and believin that "a large number of people" don't like something just because you (mistakenly) don't is a fallacy.

The feature is mainly appreciated in every MMO in which it's implemented (which includes basically every Major MMO in the world), there are just very vocal and very inconsequential minority of reactionaries that can't stand evolution that continue to speak nonsense against it.

Every game that has this feature shows clearly that nothing is destroyed, people continue looking for group primarily in their guild and server, and use the tool just in the case they can't.

Having options is a positive thing, instead of getting bored to death shouting for hours in a plaza. Embrace it.

I dunno, I'm looking forward to reducing the time on LFG for content... Also saying that the WoW player base is anything like the FF player base is just laughable. I'm PRETTY sure that there's more greed in WoW than there is in FFXI/V.

This is simply due to the fact XI (obviously) and XIV weren't built like WoW or it's "successors". XIV however has shown that it will be like every other MMO on the market which means they're trying to attract said "greedy playerbase" or else they won't make money.

The reason it wasn't as bad in XI/XIV is because it didn't attract that playerbase, but XIV is being designed to attract as such so we should expect that type of playerbase once ARR goes live.

This also depends on how "forgiving" YoshiP will be willing to make drop rates as well. I mean in general, people who play FF aren't your normal playerbase (in my experience in XI and XIV). Yeah there are some real characters here and there, but for the most part we are mostly fairplayers.

That's not true. There have been plenty of cases in XIV where people have suffered from these "greedy" people you guys are talking about. The only reason XIV didn't have more cases is because their group finding feature was too "complex" for people to use and no instructions on how to use it.

I don't think you can just outright say the addition of a content finder will equal the demise of the community. One thing I don't understand is this idea that EVERYONE outside your "awesome LS" are a bunch of retards waiting to ruin your game experience. If you don't have the time to devote to a more involved style of play where you have to be present at a certain day and time for your group's events this should be there as an option. Are there going to be people who have bad experiences using the content finder? Of course... but who doesn't have bad experiences in their own LS from time to time. The addition of a content finder did nothing to make WoW's community better or worse in my experience.

No, they can't, and in fact in *every* MMO in which it has been implemented (it's most certanly not limited to WoW most MMOs have it nowadays), it didn't. It's just irrational fear of evolution from people that think being bored in a MMO is somehow a good thing.

Cross server content is a good thing. I can not think of a single reason why it should be seen otherwise.
