you talking about Frontlines? it wont be cross servers you only be fighting with your own world. Yoshi-p hint of allowing the top free companys in each world fight vs other top free company worlds in pvp but i bet that be for live events and so on.

They could allow Frontlines in dungeon finder but yoshi-p said no because he want us to fight with our own world not sure if he change his mind.

Seeing how Yoshi admitted to playing the "opposition" (GW2, WoW, Tera, w.e?) lol and that Yoshi admitted that he is a huge fan of pvp I think cross server PvP will be very likely (obviously similar to what you said but I'm just say - probably more then a hint :P lol).


I like casual pick up and go PvP and I will look forward to it - I am extremely leery and interested in how the class/job system plays out in PvP though.

Was a interview can't find it atm but he said pvp would have diff spell. Like White mage what would that person do? just heal and cast two element spell over and over again? so he making sure whm have a fighting chance in pvp.

He said at the current time he does not want cross server pvp because he want us to fight within our own world. The PVP system in FFXIV is base around the Company fighting with eachother to control outpost areas in the PVP zones there crystal type outpost. I'm guessing the reason we fighting for it becuase it may give out energy or crystals and in the storyline we made deals with beastmen to give us there crystal but there no longer trading due to them using it to summon there primals in to the world. Getting off topic but ya it's storyline base so he want us to fight with people we know in our own world. He give the idea of allowing top pvp team to cross server fight with other top teams.

But he can change his mind noting is set in stone with it come to cross world pvp

In the 2.0 pdf

Two PvP venues, Coliseum and Frontlines, to be released after version 2.0. Unique zones to be created so as not to affect non-participating players. Release of PvP-specific abilities, gear, and ranking.

And I hope we get Team vers. Team mode in the arena PvP ^^
