    The "lucky", aren't a select group of people. Ive seen a lot of people keep saying that as if the game favors some over others. Everyone blows up melds equally. Some might get lucky triple melding their head pieces on the first try and then blow up 20 trying to double meld legs. Others would have similar stories. Ive never seen anyone fail up to 10/10 times trying to double meld something. ( haven't seen up to 5/5 either). You blow shit up, you QQ, nd then you make more. of if ur smart, Make 5 b4 u try melding and your almost guaranteed to get at least 1 or more.

    Who knows, I havent done any crafting under the ARR system yet. those were just samples anyways. In any case, making it the same as crafting with a required quality level would be better than /pray. In a way, you would still be /praying because crafting still has its RNG as well.

    They can also set the dificulty of the meld as your crafting lvl + 7 (so all melds stay the same difficulty, and all class-specific weapons are below that difficulty). It was rather difficult to raise say a Darksteel ingot by 300 quality. Melding could be set at the same or higher difficulty.

    I like the idea of crafted gear having set slots NHQ and HQ . HQ to have 3 slots max gets rid of quad and 5 melds and the success rate on melding to be enhanced make it 30% success chance out of 10 tries not 100,000 lol

    This was what people we're really against in the last post. With a success rate like that. everyone would have triple melds.

    And even if some dislike my idea, i'm happy to see that no one is happy with the current materia system...

    Gambling is antiquated and boring, leave it to the past.

    Not really. If hard modes are really that hard, only strong parties will be able to get 3 materia slots gear..

    For example, in WoW only a little % of player base were able to do hard modes, so not anyone had the strongest gear.


    And even if the triple meld will be the max, i think it's more balanced than now,
    where people that cannot afford gambling just have 1x meld gear, while people that made gils by botting, or buying, or capped money at release where a levequest was worth 100k + , have 2x, x3 or even more melded gear...

    I'm all for no gambling mechanics. I'm sure it's fun for some who are really lucky and get triple/quad melds but when you are on the opposite end of the spectrum it almost makes you wanna quit the game. An example http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com...entry?e=297642

    I really don't know why they didn't revamp the materia system too for ARR... :/
