I sincerely apologize for not reading the whole thread, but Duude, instead of Behemoths in Dravania, isn't there a confirmed Behemoth den in Coerthas from the old maps they showed off? Coerthas is supposed to be very mountainous, one theme could be the snowy peaks.

I deff believe MD will be lush and beautiful, and the site of the Crystal Tower

Although I agree that Coethas has the mountainous factor, it is indeed lacking the snow.

Even the globe image in the OP overtly shows that.

On the other hand... the region to the west is much whiter than even Thanalan, strongly implying snow.

Furthermore, the quote from the NPC Petyr Winsome--

Petyr Winsome: Why hello there adventurers, My name is Petyr Winsome, reporter for the Harbor Herald.

Petyr Winsome: Say have you heard the rumors about some beastmen tribe attempting to ally themself with the Empire?

Uni Neko: not really, but considering how the empire feels about beastmen, I don't see an alliance happening

Petyr Winsome: It does seem unlikely, and the rumors were unsubstantiated. But from what I have heard it was some sort of really big Beastmen.

Jaison Aurelio: I wonder if it's the Ixali! Isn't Garuda their primal?

Petyr Winsome: I do not think it was them, was some tribe I have not heard of, all I heard was that they were very big.

    Uni Neko: like trolls?

Petyr Winsome: Perhaps. The only other part of the rumor said that they had an icy demeanor. Then again this all could just be bunk, made by the mind of someone who spent a little too much time rummaging around underground.

Jaison Aurelio: I wonder where this beastman tribe could be found?

Petyr Winsome: Yes, there is usually some grain of truth somewhere in a rumor. Only time would tell though. The report I saw with the rumor said something about "up north" somewhere.

Jaison Aurelio: I want to confront these icy beastmen!

Petyr Winsome: I wonder that myself honestly. But I think I'll leave first contact to you strong adventurers. A bit too old to be wandering about in dangerous territory now.

Jaison Aurelio: I wonder if these icy beastmen call upon Shiva as their primal!

Petyr Winsome: I think that would make sense, certainly more so than having it be Ifrit. I do believe that one would get cold up there.
All of this is portrayed as beastmen in a snowy region to the north with icy demeanors who CURRENTLY (as in 1.0 xiv) are negotiating with the Garleans.

Its a snow-covered zone that does exist in 1.0 lore, not one that becomes snow-covered over the next 5 years.

I didn't to read the whole thread, but Didn't they state that each Region would have multiple biomes? Like, Ul'Hah won't be 100% desert anymore.

I don't see why Mor Dhona or more likely Coerthas couldn't have a northern portion that has snow.

Also, just noticed that the mysterious aetheric protrusion is in the middle of Coerthas.

Well here is Rein's translation of the maps and stuff they showed us. If you look at Coerthas, you can see Behemoth's lair...perhaps they hail from Dravania, but there is just one hiding out in Coerthas...or something. But if you want my honest opinion about that quote...sounds like Giants to me. Then again...I wasn't really thinking of dragons as beastmen either, but they deff are...so behemoths could totally work

Curious if this map could be massively oversimplified overview of coerthas and mordhona and dravania... With the tower in the center.

One thing that doesn't match up though...

Cid says the mark of Thaliak is effectively the headstone for the tomb of the Allaghan king, Xandes I. Southwest of Silvertear Lake.
Erik says that the detected source of aetherial energy symbolizing the crystal tower is EAST of Silvertear Lake.

    What gives?

What I meant by the aetheric protrusion part was that
    http://i.imgur.com/MIkTT.jpg
    is in the middle of
    http://i.imgur.com/3PsqO.jpg
as is shown at the bottom.

Looking at the latter, there are at least two pictures depicting snow in the Eastern/South Eastern portions of the Coerthas, as well as to the direction of Dravania. If Coerthas can have random portions with snowfall, why can't Mor Dhona *shrugs*
Even if it makes no sense..

Though, they could always flip Mor Dhona counter clockwise and makes its current East into it's North, matching the old east of Mor Dhona to the South East snowy portion of Coerthas giving it an excuse to be snowy

Seems to me the image shows the key to Dalamud pretty clearly. But who can be certain.

On the translation for the big tree, its "Zone to Forest," so it might be Gridania or Mor Dhona. Not sure if that means it is in Coerthas or the other zone. I sorta look at it as Yggdrasil or a Boyahda tree. Rest assured, the snow zones are definitely Coerthas and Behemoth's lair. As for the large Crystal like object sticking out of the ground, Sharlayan and Dravnia are to the West of Ishgard and the Crystal Tower is to the south in Mor Dhona, if we're facing Behemoth from the south then it's an unknown object to the north. If not then it could be The Crystal Tower from a different direction or a something from Sharlayan or Dravnia to the east. If it's to the east then I dunno lol. We know nothing about Xelaphatol.
