Ya I've got Skype. Do you still have the Besaid Open Vent server info? We could get on there real quick and we could swap Skype info?Yeh, teamspeak went down the drain months ago when lions pride fell apart, I ended up rejoining Ensuna Sentinels after that, but since the end of the world, it'd now empty. If you have skype you can always come glomp me lots on there
I have Majidah on my friends list too. He was completely "lol"ing to my mass depression yesterday :'( was completely miserable because of Loui!
I just realised how few people have my skype from 1.0! D: THE HORROR! A WHOLE 3!!
Dayum!
I think my best memory was getting my missus the Darnus (easy) win. She's extra busy almost all the time because of her schooling, so we only had weekends available. Our linkshell is the furthest thing from an Endgame shell, but quite a few of us had beaten the fight already. Despite that, almost everyone volunteered to help out, those who had beaten it and those who still needed it alike. We ended up not getting the win on the first weekend, but the weekend after that we formed up and went in.
The missus was tanking, but she had learned everything she knew of tanking from the previous weekend's fight, so it was fair to say she was new at it. Despite that, she kept hate like a pro, knew where to stand, when to move. We all knew our roles, and we fought him to the last. After his meteor shower attack, he gets back on the ground level and we just start whacking him. 1 minute left. Still whacking away. 10 seconds left. Vent is exploding from people yelling, "Just hit him. For the love of god hit him." At 0 seconds left (the clock literally rolled on to zero), he gets hit. The screen goes black, and not a single sound could be heard over vent. The screen comes back, and it was the Victory cutscene.
I've never felt more joy and pride at being a part of TSO, and I'll definitely never forget that one moment ^^.
WHY LODESTONE NO HAVE PRIVATE MESSAGING SYSTEM?!?!?! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
I can have a look but I have a feeling that I don't. Heck, ya'know what. I decline everyone unless I know it's coming
mine chibixai ^^
The Darnus fight was so epic, by far the best fight in the game. It was pretty hard getting it done but so satisfying. I'm so glad I got it done. I feel like I completed the game in a sense, so I am ready for ARR. My only regret is not having defeated any of the primals, every party I had was a total disaster. I did all the quests so I could fight them but never once won.
I was really at a loss last night what to play. 1.0, you will be missed, even with the imperfections.
Because the "standard MMO" these days fail to capture what XI and XIV offered, which is why it's a bit saddening to see them going the "standard" route because it's something they can easily lose at the drop of a hat if they're not smart about it.
I can speak to most of my friends outside of the game, so it helps but... usually when I turn my PC on I tend to go click the client only to realize it's gone.GW2 should hold me for the most part, though.
As bad as 1.0 technically was, I felt very sad when the servers shut and I miss it.
I don't really see what 1.0 offered that ARR isn't going to offer. 1.0 was okay, but it still struggled to overcome how terrible it was from the start and some of the horrible design flaws (servers, copypasta world) that it was created with. There is nothing wrong with borrowing from other MMO's if you can do it right. FFXI was basically Everquest in a Final Fantasy world.
The redesigned world, the new battle system, and the promise for decent content instead of just having primals and 30 minute dungeons is enough to make me excited for the game. I don't know why you people are so afraid of moving forward. I grew to like FFXIV 1.0 but it would have never had a chance at turning things around if they kept the game the way that it was.
That being said, I will say it was sad when 1.0 servers shut down. There was so much build up, disappointment, and a little feeling of redemption that came along with this game it's weird that I can't log onto it. That last End of an Era trailer made me want to do nothing but log in.
I never killed Darnus. I never killed Darnus. I never killed Darnus.
I hate everything.
One good thing, is that those who constantly whine and carry on will hopefully find a new appreciation for the game.
You would not miss it if it was truly as bad as some make it out to be.
