Hmm.... in a more twisted way, after he sent all of us to wherever he sent us, he defeated Bahamut, BUT in order to do that, he absorb all its evil turning him into... BAHABMUT!!! Similar to FFX, he will also be one of the endgame of ARR![]()

Hah, before I even finished reading your post, I knew exactly what you were getting at.
I don't know if they'd copy FFX so closely, but I could definitely see their respective energies interacting. I mean, if Lousioux did die, wouldn't his pure energy as an archon affect Bahamut in some way?
I'm keen to believe that he was merely an avatar for The Scholar. I imagine it was merely his fleshy anchor to Eorzea that was killed, and that he'll make another appearance in some form
I think he should stay dead, it completely makes him "the" hero of FFXIV. Maybe it'd be nice if he came back as the ghost that guides you in future AF armor for upcoming jobs.

I was thinking about this last night, and the connections run a lot deeper than just your joke...
The old man wizard who led us on our journey sacrifices himself against ancient flames so that the party can "fly" away, and his staff exploding mid-battle, are both pretty solid references to Gandalf... After the reaction to the "bring him back" threads we've seen so far, I hope they reconsider it if they were aiming at a Louisoix The White situation.
At best, a few years from now, I wouldn't mind seeing him as a representative of the Twelve in a vision or something... just to let us know he lives on... but that one better be just as heartbreaking as the moment we lost him or it's a wasted effort.

He shouldn't return. If he survives at all then that cheapens the whole ordeal entirely and makes Bahamut that much less intimidating. In a way it makes everything seem less important because "they can just come back later." It's unrealistic. (Even fantasy based stories need rules on Death and staying dead.)
I'm not sure we know exactly what or who Louisoix was. Other than just being granted powers he could have been a part of Thaliak himself in mortal form. A common theme with Gods. Kind of like Jesus, supposedly his own self yet still really God, so he can't really die. I think this could be because he seems quite powerful and while everyone else was praying to raise all the twelve's weapons/symbols he actually shot one up himself. If that's the case it could very much be a situation where we meet Louisoix/Thaliak again but under different form.
Unless SE has a very tasteful way to bring him back (a way to not ruin the end of the world trailer) then I'd say leave him dead.
However!!!!
I wouldnt be aganist seeing him in spirit - would be specially cool in a scene like in FFX farplane : http://youtu.be/iXoyDkynfgg
Also... SE please dont forget to "remember" him in ARR. (Statue/town speech/lore)
meh another one... let the man rest in peices, monument and so on and so forth and such.
