Don't hate on Gridania its finally getting its due, after all limsa was the 1.0 alpha/beta zone and ul'dah was the center of the world we Gridanians are finally getting out time to shine

Who said I was hating. I like Grid. I was just pointing out that using that as the starting zone is a form of favoritism. Even Yoshi encouraged people to join Gridania Grand Company. You can never avoid favoritism. People could even say that emphasis Miqo'te is a form favoritism.
Time for people to chill out and stop getting bent if they don't show what YOU want.
To get back on topic though:
The person who posted about behemoth armor or things of that nature could be onto something. It may involve that.

If whatever you're shooting doesn't die after you pump 8, 32 caliber, slugs into it, it's probably a dragon.

Mage.
Tank.
Melee.
Labyrinth. Dungeons. Alliance GC. Ishgard GC.
From who knows where.
'04 FFXI: Shield Kites - Paladin - Mithra - Windurst - Diabolos
the last set of armor has raubahn's helmet

I don't necessarily think they have to all be the same "type" of gear. It's not all GC gear, it's not all Class only gear, it's not all Job Artifact gear. Otherwise I think your speculation is the closest.Well the one on the left is Limsa. The far right maybe Ul'dah because the horns are kind of symbolic. The question is the 2 middle portions... maybe... some form of new Class specific equipment or each GC gets multiple sets of new gear.
Example being(from left to right):
the first is limsa "cloth armor" for things like brd, mnk, drg
the second could be ul'dah "mage robes" for arc, blm, whm
the third could be ul'dah "heavy armor" for war and pld
the fourth could be "light armor" for ul'dah being war, drg, pld
Far left is definitely Limsa GC gear as it clearly says "FFXIV Limsa Lominsa GC" on it. The far right looks a lot like the horns found on the classic Dark Knight but I was fooled before when the Dragoon armor was first released. Some people are saying it's Behemoth armor and I could totally see that as well.
The second from the left could be any casting robes. Could be Blue Mage armor, could be Ul'dah GC, could be just mage robes.
The second from the right is what's hard to pinpoint but I'd say you have it best. It's just a new type of heavy armor. It just seems too bulky to be Samurai or Beastmaster as some have been speculating.
3 ul'dah 1 limsa and 0 gridania? get out of here...Well the one on the left is Limsa. The far right maybe Ul'dah because the horns are kind of symbolic. The question is the 2 middle portions... maybe... some form of new Class specific equipment or each GC gets multiple sets of new gear.

They whored out Limsa Lominsa in all the promotional material leading up to the original release. It didn't really change anything when everyone decided to join and stay in Ul'dah anyways. I don't think emphasizing Gridania will give it any more appeal to people or make the distribution of new players too unbalanced. If anything it will do the opposite. The reason I heard the most for why people didn't start in Limsa was because they played Alpha and the first round of Beta and they were tired of Limsa Lominsa and La Noscea.Who said I was hating. Making a starting city the central economic hub caused an over emphasis on player distribution. If anything players will flock away from Gridania as by the time ARR is released we'll have been seeing Old Gridania / New Gridania and the Central Shroud more than any other location.

Yep, need more Limsa people
All we need is new variations of star-spangled subligar, for new gc armor. I'm sure Reinheart would back me up on this. SUBLIGAR FOR ALL NATIONS!
