I also believe the Twelve are not gods nor primals. Maybe Allagans or just the symbols/weapons/rocks that allow for the incantation.

And I'm kinda hoping our primal will be Alexander so we can reenact this scene:

Hmmm that theory has been around for quite some time, but I don't think Siren is our primal. Especially after they announced her just like Fenrir, Cait Sith and Typhoon. Something cool (boss or lesser summon) but not very important. And they didn't say a thing about Bahamut before they put it in such a great role. So thinking about the biggest summons from FF history, Bahamut and Alexander were the ones Yoshi hasn't talked about yet. Who knows ;P

Bahamut was atleast hinted at. Dragons and Dravnians worshipped a Dragon Primal. Van Darnus drew on Bahamut's powers and used one of the most iconic moves in the game. Looking at Ishgard and drawing on FFIX sure I could see how Ishgard could be Alexander and Ishgardians are some of the most religious zealots in Eorzea. But:

Halone, the Fury

Halone, mover of glaciers and goddess of war, commands the element of ice and is tied to the fifth month. She is depicted as a relentless warrior holding a bronze greatshield, and her symbol is three spears. Halone is also bitter rivals with Nophica, and patron of Ishgard.

I doubt Fenrir would be our Primal because I see it more associated with Menphina and the Moon. Cait Sith and Typhoon I don't see as having any association with our characters. While Siren makes sense with the various NPC dialogue and singing we hear, not just at the end of the world but as we enter the world. Either what, whatever Primals claims us, we will fight it. Oh yes, and we will win.
