The god of dragons – First hints at Bahamut? [Lore Post]

I think there are too many competing groups to really spin theories. It feels so futile because everyone's probably wrong! Because each group/agency in the game has a different agenda and belief system, and who do you actually believe? Are there even gods, for example? Are the primals gods? Is there a being more powerful than a primal?

You have the Garleans saying one thing, The Holy See saying another, and then there are other more mysterious agents like Paragons, and Archons, and the Circle of Knowing.

I'm just going to see how this one plays out, myself.

Can't primals be summoned and resummoned ad infinitum anyway? Can they even stay dead? If they die once, they can just be brought back again. I think that might be behind the "starshower" from the opening cutscene; the garleans were trying to isolate the primals from the aether and keep them from being summoned by their tribes/paragons. EDIT: And perhaps keeping them captive to exploit their power.

I doubt Bahamut (or this "dragon god") could be likened to something as "simple" as a primal.

I like it! However, I do know Bahamut is one of the strongest, if not *the* strongest force imaginable in general FF lore. If he is given an awakening/revival, i expect it to be the climax of a given story arc.

Speaking of lore, I also had some other lore posts where I mentioned this idea of “something sealed inside of Dalamud” (hopefully we'll be able to group all our lore posts in the promised Lore Section of the forum): at first I was undecided between a Weapon, due to that picture released resembling Nael van Darnus, and Bahamut, then after doing the underestimated “What Glitters Always Isn't Gold” quest and seeing Darnus' attack called Megaflare, I was even more convinced Dalamud was a giant seal for Bahamut. Those spikes/giant blades always gave me the idea of a seal, when we started to see them more closely.

Now I wonder what happened after we got “teleported” through time...

And also, what in the seven hells could have happened to Hildibrand who was up there?!


Ahh, can't wait for the new lore in A Realm Reborn...! The Great Labyrinth of Bahamut should solve the final mysteries! /psych
