Why? Because not only did you pay for a movie, but you used up time, which has value.

Time has value.
SE convinced 1000s of people to give up time in order to experience an endgame event they planned for months
and then they dropped the ball

It's not entitlement to be upset that someone wasted your time.
It's intelligence.

In reality, a smart person would just go to an MMO that doesn't waste their time over and over again with empty promises.
However, we have a really awesome fanbase here with people who genuinely care about the game, and put up stuff like this.

So I think it is completely fair to ask for a little something in return for our continued loyalty. Especially when they just messed up the final event which from a marketing standpoint is supposed to make people "never forget" ffxiv so they want to play 2.0 when it's released.
