Should this game be tailored for Final Fantasy fans or MMO fans?

The game is a final fantasy game if it goes away from that and just does mainstream mmo.. they should take the final fantasy off it.

With that the game should be made for FF fans first with the general mmo playerbase as the 2nd target. Not saying they shouldn't try to get both at the same time though.

pretty much this, but dont bend it out of shape just to please the "western/standard MMO" crowd (Bunny hopping and stuff like that)

what makes you think westerners like bunny hopping? That's just a bad implementation of jumping which almost nobody supports. If people call for jumping, they want realistic jumping.

sorry but in every mmo i played that had a jumping feature by just pressing a button almost everyone spammed the heck out of it, no exeptions.

I honestly agree... jumping is pointless... and all you see in most games with jumping is people mashing the jump button constantly. It takes away from the whole immersion effect.

I always thought XI was great without jumping. I don't want jumping in XIV but I do get stuck on the stupidest rocks, so collision detection in the environment needs to be fixed.

My daughter skips 80% of the time instead of walking. It doesn't take away from the immersion effect.

i didnt say they shouldnt consider the western MMO players opinions, i said they shouldnt bend the the game just to please them without considering if its really a must have in a game (free jumping, dozends of flying mounts, open world PK *aka I GANKED YA* just to name a few examples)
there is alot to gain from every playerbases opinion but if you bend the game too much in order to please all, the outcome is most likely dissapointment for all

I actually followed the quote trail all the way back to the beginning just to be sure that you'd really said that people jumping annoys you, so we shouldn't do too much to please the western crowd. Thanks for playing.
