    Yeah, western MMOs have some nice dungeons, and asian MMOs have some of the worst.

    It's best to describe things you like/hate with other descriptives that aren't just blanket statements.

    I dont like the idea of instances at all, personally. I liked the open world dungeons of FFXI the best, with only small fractions of them being instanced, and only where absolutely necessary.

    ya....... I was a level 90 dancer tyvm played til feb and yes I done end game in ffxi. Well dynamis and sky. I stoped because the petty drama over items and who had to play as what job.

    I looked up the duneon info for ffxi and they did state they will be instanced. And I really did see no difference between dynamis and dungeons in WoW. They wre instaced locations where groups killed hords of mobs/ mini bosses for loot, then at the end defeated a mega boss.

    Which is any dungeon in any rpg. minus oblivion.... that was set up a tad differenly. if you want proof go to xbox.com and look up darkAngel Raven my ffxi achiv are availible. I play ffxi for years.

    There is no need to be rude to me. I didn't say anything bad just the truth based on what was announced. and my personal opinion.

    The reason why Sky/Sea gear was so useful for so long is that FF11 was stuck at 75 cap for 5 years, there is a good chance FF14 will go all the way up to 99 so don't expect gear you get at rank 50 to be much use at rank 99.
    Idk, I much preferred having a cap at 75 and progressing through merits. It kept older gear and content from constantly being obsolete.

    Back to the OP, I don't honestly see them making the dungeons like WoW. FF games have their own twist on things. It will likely be more like XI's but I see it being more unique than even that. Maybe they'll even blend the 2 styles.

    I'd like to see a combination of instances and open world. Open world does make the land more dynamic. However, there should be fights available for private groups too.

    I'm not sure how they could make the instances much different from WoW, but if they can, I'd like that too.

    they could do it like mabinogi and have the layout and set up be randonmy generated, you would run the sam dungeon but a different set up each time.

    but ya. anything that is repeated will get dull, such is the nature of mmo. Same with gear.

    I'm no fan of WoW but ragging on it constantly just because similar language is being used to express in game mechanics or concepts is tired.

    Also, fyi, Black Temple and AQ 40 were actually great, and were examples of good instanced content as far as WoW goes. It's the small scale regular dungeons that are kind of boring (of which I suppose there will be many in this game since max party size is now 8 with an eye to a regular pt being 4-7 roughly). If there is some kind of alliance system to link parties maybe there will be room for something bigger idk.

    Moblin Maze Mongers in 11 was a nice idea which could be taken further, I'm all for randomly generated dungeons.

    Random generate monsters and loot would make it even more interesting.

    MMM is actually one of the things I never did in FF11, but yeah randomly generated dungeons is a cool idea. SE is really good at making their own things and not copying ideas, so I bet we'll get some really unique and interesting stuff ^-^

    Yes there should definitely be a balance struck to prevent crowds and such all trying to pop something at a ???. Open world from FFXI left me with a huge bias in terms of competitiveness and linkshell rivalry. But again, ENM/BCNM/KSNM/etc were all great aspects where players could cash in their time spent partying (seals -> orbs) for challenging and rewarding fights.

    Personally i liked scarlet monestary and some that was hidden in the barrens where at the end of the dungeon you was taken on a walk your and told some lore about the cave, and the night elf in his emerald dream befor he pulls a david bowie from labrynth and turns into a few owls.
