that people would quit over something so minute is sad... I can understand being pissed, but if you want the challenge don't do it, others get it good for them. Yes, I know I am sure it is not going to get saved. but to threaten to quit over something like this is so superficial. Expecially when the greedy on the market make it neigh impossible to get it due to inflation for their own self worth. I don't care I would if they let me keep it I would hold on to it and then do the ARR relic quest and drop the free one and get the official one.

Also if we did get to keep them (or choose) and ARR is a huge success we would still be in the minority, even more so if it's just the people who defended the town.

My idea of having a NPC would allow people who didn't want to be given a relic not to have one, and work for it, but also the people who want one to get one.

I know some people see it as unfair, but I think it would be the best "thank you for sticking through the dark times, and having faith in us" SE could do.

I know from your posts and others your at least level headed to not quit over something superficial like this, but there are those here that threaten to. To them I say go ahead... I am sorry it upset you but to quit over this... that won't affect you, unless you go out of your way to make it so. It is just sad.

this too, I would just hold on to it for rememberance of the final days and remember I was there for that event. Yes photo's but something to just mark in-game for me as Dalamud Event Relic or any item even the fireworks would be fun to me

We have that already. It's called LEGACY. We get subscription discounts. We get unique chocobo. We can credit acknowledgement. WE HAVE UNIQUE ITEMS FROM 1.0. Anymore would be overkill.

And essentially what you're asking for is for content to be done for you FOR FREE. I thought this community wanted MORE content, not less? Do you WANT everything handed to you on a silver platter?

The ONLY time I can see an NPC handing out relics is if something on a higher tier than these weapons come out. And even then, a long time after they have been implemented.

It doesn't affect anything but the morality of a few players who believe it's acceptable - I certainly don't think it is. I am enjoying holding a relic for the final days, but beyond that...no. Just no.

I could support the idea of renaming them "Dalamud's <relic name>" and having lower stats on them and THEN keeping them for ARR. As for remembrance, I think we have enough items in-game to justify a remembering of Dalamud and the sixth Astral era. (Dalamud Horn anyone)

No I have worked for it... I have my currency. its just the seals that are holding me back. Either way I'll get one. Its just nice to have at least one so I can check that off of my things to do.

This is a personal annoyance for me, not your quote but what happened to me in game. I worked my butt off to get max level get my AF and work for money to get better gear. Then spent a month or 2 to get up to Darnus, I was hyped and happy. Then all my LS mates said "hell no we are not going to do Darnus with you on PLD, we aren't carrying you, level up BLM then we will do it with you... I have school and a lot of hw, they wouldn't pl, and expected me to get in my last week to get a lvl 50 BLM. So due to people not letting me play the class I wanted to play, to finish a content, therefore I missed the horn and the story completion on my character urks me... I was so pissed.... I wanted to be PLD and complete it... but noooo I was told to play to someone elses game, Hated it about XI hate it here. So here I am working my butt off with my busy schedule and because of others I was not able to do it. Yes, I tried to form my own group, shout for it nothing happened for 2 weeks.
Edit: Not saying I am entitled. I am just upset that even through my efforts, No one wanted to help me or anything. I love the fact of trying to work for things, but being told "no you chose wrong class, because we don't trust you as a PLD (even though they never played with me as pld)" They veiwed me asking for their help to complete it as me asking them wanting them to carry me... When I just wanted bodies to make a damn party to do the story. So pissed about it, that would be enough for me to quit, not someone getting a relic in a 1x only event that only select people can participate in.

Bad linkshells will be bad, regardless to the game.

It was the same in XI, friendly, good Linkshells would let you go whatever job you wanted (as long as it was geared well obv)

I played XI with a group of really good friends. They let me play what I wanted and I love those guys for that. I will hopefully find a similar group in ARR.
