this has been brought up probably 50 times in this thread but what does it actually mean? In mmos challenge IS time spent in game. Most of the hardest fights in game require nearly the best gear available and the best of everything. Attaining all of this requires a lot of time.

If the best of the best gear was only "difficult" to attain then everyone in the game would have it as I assume your saying its just a difficult fight and not a "grind". Then you can just do that "difficult" fight a few times and bam you have the best gear in the game. Making something easily attainable reduces its value greatly, which I dont care for all that much. Yes having plenty of content for every playstyle is important but people are always going to need to have those goals that take a long time to achieve.

Although most high end stuff in games dont require that grind anyways, unless its something similar to faction points that we have now.

why can't ppl agree with the concept that any playercan access everything a game has to offer in means of content. Why do you fear it will be easy? Why does it matter how much time it takes to complete things?

You guys know that the longer something takes, the less people can do it.
And with less people doing it even other players miss out that can do it.

This is a game guys, there is no need to be nasty to others over content. There is no need to make content exclusive to a certain group. No one here is asking for easy content. And making stuff that takes a decent amount of time that everyone can do, doesn't make it easier.

I think people are letting their hate for WoW make them dislike the "casuals". The more people we can get to play ffxiv the better this game can be. Fffxiv isn't turning into a solocentric game, you guys are doing that.

can we end thins stupid fight over something so petty? Nobody deserves to get rewarded for playing a game more then someone else.

no one is saying make leveling fast.... I know I didn't nor want that. I know jobs/classes etc take time to learn. But that is understandable. Even @ 2hrs i still got to level 30. The only part is having to travel to other places took time. Which made it harder to party. And with the player base slowly dying there wasn't enough people to group with.

Yes this is how you do it.

Trust me, when you're in a scheduled raid, 7 nights a week, and people are playing a game, not getting screamed at, and not stressing over things, you *are* having fun.
Its increasingly common for that kind of thing to happen, just search ventrillo rage on youtube. :/

choc Please don't miss interpret what I mean. Anyone should be able to do content, have a chance to do content, and there is no "casual" content and "hardcore" content spilt.

who know what that sounds like? the days when people were racist. Where everything was split between the "white side" and the "black side"
Sorry i'm against such a thing.

All i'm saying is you don't make a dungeon any more or less hard by how long it takes to complete. Just because a dungeon run can be 30 min long don't make it easy. The actually encounter requiring skill makes it difficault.
And gear wise as long as I can acess content if it takes me a bit to get rewarded idm. I just want to beable to do the content when I can do it.

No one here is asking for easy mode. everyone buys and pays for the same game, why should a person by limured in what they can do because of how much time they can play a game.

remember we play a game to enjoy. We should beable to so anything we want regaurdless of how much we can play per day/week.

umm no. thats being gamist my new term for game racist casual vs hardcore. Sorry but.. thats dumb. Who would want to play a game that they have no way to get that gear because they can't spend hours and hours on a game?
if no one can get the same gear what would the point of playing be?
The more you limit those who play less the less people can play.
remember players will end up requiring this said gear if you a casual you will get looked down on for not playing so much. How is that fun?

Also just so we are clear, i'm not asking for insta drop rewards. I don't mind if the reward takes time to get. Just being able to access the content to try for the reward is what makes it fun. Like artifact weapons, anyone can do this and no matter who you are it will take time. The rewards is worth the effort. As long as that is the case I can enjoy myself. Like I had fun in dynamis, my only wish was to have a better time frame of abling able to do it. If more people could access it more different time frames will be open. I much rather do stuff during the day when I'm awake, not when I'm tired and about to pass out.

And stuff that was a useless time sink was ohat. Sorry it being a mnth to get all the eyes and spending all that time waiting was dull and tbh that item wasn't even worth the trouble it took to get it.

To add to the discussion, plese don't also mistake casual play == solo play... That's is not true! It's only a matter of numbers of hour per day avaiable to play a game, nothing less, nothing more.
Small groups for casuals and bigger group for hardcore makes no sense... I'm casual and I want to do stuff in big alliances! And talking about the time to form a group, forums and schedules are here for that.

To sum up, a system comparable to Recli weapons in FFXI seems to be a good compromise to everyone so why not discuss how to optimize it so everyone is happy?
