It has never appeared in the areas where it's appearing now, so yeah, it's new. And you seem to care enough to post about it.
...So your saying it's not new right?
Just because it doesn't usually rain in the desert doesn't mean it's "new"
The meteor showers? New.
The moon slowly descending to the earth? New
Thunder happening somewhere it didn't before? Not new.
Again it's not a matter of caring if it's new or not, it should just be pointed out that it's nothing that has been added to the game for people who are still expecting some kind of world altering change to occur. Many of us had expected something big to happen for the last character save, monsters spawning outside of their instanced dungeons doesn't make it something new.
It's pretty cool for sure, but it's not new. I'm not sure why you seem to be taking it as a insult to call the weather not new, it's just the truth it's not knocking it I'm actually glad we get to see it outside of the never ridden ferry. Might as well make that awesome weather effect appear somewhere people might notice it. Again, I'm not suprised people think it's new because the game made it next to invisible.
Hell we have people posting all the time about the hedge trees and things like Amerscale rock thinking it's new all the time.

No, I'm saying it's new, since that effect was never applied to the rest of Eorzea. You know, applying an effect to a completely different environment isn't just a matter of flipping a switch, especially when you have to create a soundtrack for it and merge it with other effects.
