Its partly SE's fault im not excited for this event cos they didnt hype it up! so my cynic whining is a way to show SE that they didnt really advertise it very well or build it up good. Though they will probally just ignore this thread.

Grand Finale for the Current Version of FINAL FANTASY XIV

The grand finale is right around the corner, as the Seventh Umbral Era descends on Eorzea. A final save maintenance for current version character data is scheduled for November 1, 2012, followed by all Worlds coming down on November 11, 2012 at 0:00am (PST) / 8:00am (GMT). Then at 2:00am (PST) / 10:00am (GMT), also on November 11, we’re planning to run a live Letter from the Producer.

That to me sounds like: "Ok Final Save Maintenance occurs on November 1st (JST)" Then within the 10 day span Dalamud will get closer to us, till November 11th till finally *Dalamud's impact" (Which is the servers going down when Dalamud Impacts us).

That's just how I take it, And also for 10 days, were just going to do nothing ( since everything you do won't count) so there would have to be a reason for you to log on after the 1st right? or else no one would log on really till the 11th? That doesn't sound logical to me.

It could wide up being nothing till the 11th, I just don't see logic in it.

It could also be flavor text to make it sound much more exciting than it really is since they know people will (have) stopped playing after the final save.

I figured the 10 days was just a grace period in case people are busy working/traveling/etc and can't immediately take part in whatever the finale is, be it any live event or a CS.
