I apologize, but I'm quite a noob at the game. But I'm pretty sure they're doing more than just "playing the game", and I have no idea what "rmt" means. Could you please be more helpful, or refrain from commenting?

RMT stands for real-money traders. These people grind to gain tons of Gil, so that they can then sell the Gil for real money.
