It'd be nice if our patron deity was of a bit more importance. It'd be nice to be able to offer prayers to Oschon for a safe journey and such.
Yeah the game often lacks overt magic. I've always felt Gridania is really plain jane for being the "magical" capital.

It would be nice if praying to Oschon the wanderer in a temple would make it less likely for aggressive mobs to notice you as you run past.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I do think that if such a thing is offered, it should be something you can't count on. Something with only a chance of occuring, since gods tend to be fickle in all depictions.
Now that I think about it, didn't they say they were going to expand on our patron deities and how they effect us?
I do agree with the original post in whole, but "religion" is not a required concept to make mythical zones and themes happen.
This game is not WoW; if you want WoW, go play WoW. If you get butthurt when people mention Final Fantasy XI, then shut up about WoW.As much as it might hurt you, and as much as someone else brings the balance issues up, FFXI had the jobs right. And, you know, this is a FF, and I don't see you guys complaining about people asking for WoW things. So please.
Also, it's not like this dev team is being true to the roots of the jobs anyway.
I'll be pagan and worship all forms of the spork. All hail the mighty spork-o-doooooooooooom >.> <.<
