as long Tiamat fights doesn't takes so long like it did in FFXI, he can have 10 heads ^^

Yeah but its same model as Hydra so its Hydra...
Its like SE saying hey look this model is ifrit and we all know its a moogle by looking at it.
Still they could of made a diff model of tiamat but they didnt.
I totally agree with this.
Even though ppl say that Final Fantasy is known to get things from previous games, that's entirely right. So they shouldn't stick only to FFXI cuz there's no mob in-game from previous FFs. And this concerns me a lot because FFXI's Shiva is just horrendous lol
While i sort of agree the ffxiv Adamantoise looks so much better than that one.i love FFXI, its my favorite FF game but can the development team please stop borrowing monsters designs directly from FFXI?
as it stands now from monsters design prospective FFXI lead by far.
which i dont mind for stuff like mandys and goblins because they are kinda FFXI mascots and FFXI Fenrir look is the best in the series.
but i see the trend continues with Admantoise and god knows what, FFXII had really cool design for admantoise , wyrms and much more.
i really hope to see more balance with monster design.
[spoiler][ /spoiler]
I didn't know Magitek, Crystal Tower, and Typhoon were in FFXI.I totally agree with this.

I think an explantion for it might be that the XIV dev team is made up largely of former XI developers.I totally agree with this.

Besides, Yoshi only said that it had to make sense in the XIV world to be acceptable. If it's not broke, don't fix it?
Not only that but he also said he will not differentiate XIV from XI for the sake of it or to just be...different so yeah the same team will likely redo their work, like the Pieste/Basilisks. XI is the only other online FF game so them borrowing or importing stuff into the new online FF kind of makes the most sense..especially since FFs borrow from each other all the time.
Besides, it's not different going from FFI and fighting Goblins and loading up FFIX and fighting Goblins..you just fought the same monster in 2 different games. I don't think anyone complained when FFXI got FFIV's Flayer model for consumed Blue Mages...nor their Flans for failed Blue Mages.
Not saying it's complaining, but yeah we should expect to see a lot of imports done differently, like the Opo-Opo in XIV look the same but they behave differently for the most part.
While I understand and agree somewhat with the OP. Considering the extreme time crunch their under with ARR, I'd give the dev team a pass. I'd rather they make the highest volume of content ready at launch then focus on trying to be original with everything which inevitably consumes precious resources and time.
I didn't know Crystal Tower, and Typhoon were in FFXIV.
I'll give you Magitek though. You got me there lol but it's just one in maaany.
But yeah I understand that they want to keep somethings familiar to the FFXI veterans, I just hope they get some other mobs like PuPus or Moombas or things that were not on FFXI.

I'd be cool with taking enemies from all FF games.
