I read the post and I am happy to know Yoshi-P feels the same. It should be the player's choice to choose his/her play style and not be limited because of it.

Ok I got the solution to this problem right here. For the Hardcore SE can make an NM that has a respawn window of 36 hours. Then the NM also has 10,000,000HP and take roughly 24 hours to take down so it's super hard. The reward for taking down the NM is you get 1 shiny coin. When you have 100 shiny coins you can trade them to an NPC along with an item of your choice and that item will then become a +4 item.
As a casual player I would not have a problem with the hardcore players doing something like that, because frankly anyone who could pull it off would definitely deserve there +4 Tricorn.

Make it a +5. They need that ego boost to last them til their next upgrade.

As long as the Tricorn doesn't become an item that the community decides is a MUST have item for so and so class. That was a large 'problem' and source of frustration in XI. Let's not do it again. :S I personally never had gear envy, but I didn't like being pressured to get stuff I'd have to spend all my gil on or have to sit for hours to get alternatively. Really it's not the fact that these things are there that is the problem but that we require a certain status quo to be relevant.
because it took time for everyone, but everyone had access to it. Get it, everyone had access. The "hardcore" what stuff that casuals can't access. And that is what is wrong. They want time sink events stuff that takes 5+ to do. We don;t need or want that. Everyone pays with the same money, everyone buys the game with the same money, everyone should get access to 100% of the content they want, not 20% because of time issues.
Hey I'm sorry but +5 Tricorn or GTFO ^^As long as the Tricorn doesn't become an item that the community decides is a MUST have item for so and so class. no ppl only wanted to do it once because of the level cap was insanbe. Everytime you asked for help ppl would refuse. They took out the caps so ppl would be more willing to redo it.
this casual hate really needs to stop. stop putting silly lables on others and using it to degreade them.
the only thing i see here is players who are snobs looking for entiltment. Who think their game, let me repeat that, GAME fee is more importent and thus need content only they can do because they feel awesome. Sorry but content like that is what killed ffxi. And all SE is trying to do is make things more accessable which it shoulda been like.
You think these casuals as you call them choose bnot to play for a long duration when that isn't the case.
Also I find it hard to take people seriously when they care too much for game items.
get over yourself you know that isn't true
and theV i'm sorry but you know that isn't true
you guys are just using the cop changes as ammo. Not cool. What really happen is NO ONE could really beatr the missions. The people only did them with set groups. No matter who you were if you wasn't in a group you couldn't do it. No one helped with those fights after they beat them.
When cop came out I did have tons of time to play, and I still couldn't do cop. I either didn't have the right job or gear. I got sea access in either december or januray just recently because more ppl were willing to help with them.
And I was happy I could solo some of my sea missions, I wasn't that great of a solo'er. And I was far from a casual player.
