ARR- On Steam? or other distribution channels?

I noticed Final Fantasy 11 Abyssea was on Steam. Does Square Enix have any plans to digitally distribute/sell the client themselves or via a 3rd party?
PS3 Store comes to mind, though you will probably need a disk in the system to play unless it is PS3 account locked. So many questions........how does it work?

i expect some sort of Digital Distribution for the new PC client maybe like a voucher system. hope there plan isn't to have over 50000 people download 16GB of data from there patcher, that's going to leave bad impressions in itself.

I find myself, buying games on steam even if I am not really that interested in the game because of the price or a deal or because I have a few extra bucks. In my opinion not having a pc game on steam is like missing a giant market. People who may not have heard of ffxiv or are bored browsing steam games happen come across it in the store may buy it. The more ways a game has to be obtained the better it is going to sell.
