for the north stairs a single THM should be sufficient. I have average THM gear and can kill all 5.

    1)Blizzard>Thunder
    2)Thundara
    3)Blizzard>Thunder
Run down the stairs a bit
    4)Thundara on low meteor
    5)Blizzard>thunder

As long as you dont have resists, its pretty easy to execute.

Turned :DRG into and emoticon instead of : DRG

Question for WHM at the start of the 2nd Mega-flare when the Golums pop:

So far, I've been waiting for tank to grab them all and leash them (as I was told to do by my group)...should I Instead be running them to the top or at least kiting them on the bottom floor if they aggro me? We are doing a solo WHM setup and if I die in that phase due to my cures getting cancelled by heals, the party typically makes it through the 2nd Mega-flare but then dies due to no whm...

    Setup: PLD:WHM:BRD: DRGx2:MNK:THM:BLM

The pld/whm can run up to the platform where the brd/blm are nuking the meteors and let the tank flash everything and heal himself... assuming you mean when he pops down at full hp and not the 80%-60% where golems pop and you have to kill them.

    ^

you can stay down and wait for him to get back down, but it's probably better to follow him up a couple steps behind so he gets initial aggro on the ones on the stairs and platform, and so the golems that pop on the bottom level don't aggro you first. keep regen on yourself and the tank, pop featherfoot if you get aggro, etc. this is also usually a good time to pop shroud if you have it up and you get aggro on any of them. tank has cover as well.

also, if somehow you start taking a lot of damage and tank can't get them back, don't be afraid to pop sentinel. better to survive the golems and heal yourself up before megaflare than to try saving it for megaflare and end up dying anyway.

TY for the responses, I think mostly it was just an "OMG now what the heck do we all do" moment for us all there, but yeah, I'll follow tank a bit more and focus on surviving in the moment than waiting for Megaflare. Thanks again

(I hope to hit bigger numbers today cause that dps was me at like 04:00 am last night)...

We doing better each day though. i'm expecting a win later today!
    YARRR!!
Those number seem higher than what my parse was recording, looked closer to 55-60 overall, (although Dalamud dives hurt your DPS, we had 3-4 in our win irc). We got the win however so I dont really care about what dps we got in the end ^_^.

    by following this idea:
    phase 1:
-he ports like a mofo from 75-60% just deal with it and push through
-60-35% 2thm+brd same north stair platform just to be safe
-20% 2thm+brd same north stair platform just to be safe
-As soon as he's below 20% DRG run up top, don't wait for port
-when he ports up top pld/whm kite golems and leash near top > rebuff everyone

    phase 2:
-hold at 80% for port up top
-When he ports: Stay together below for aoe SS + sangine(when screen flashes), full buff, drg get full TP on golom
    -burn 80-59% to avoid goloms
    -40% 10 meteor: watch video's at 9min. for thm+brd (south stairs) / thm+whm (north stairs)
-40% 10 meteor: the main whm on the PLD can keep macro on Holy and kill a meteor if 1 slips by, PLD save hallowed ground if this happens so WHM can get MP back up.
-after fast 10 meteor nothing special here, don't go up top for ports just do the golom TP + buff as usual.
-20% 2 thm is enough on north stairs mid platform for alternating frags till win.

10 meteor South Stairs (brd + thm):
-#2 is fast and low => thundara
-#3 is low also => brd combo

10 meteor North Stairs (thm + whm):
-#4 is fast and low (when facing stairs its down to the right) => thundara
Was able to do 3 runs and get past all of phase 1, and into phase 2 before a few positional issues hit the group. This fight is really easy > watch the videos, read the strategy, find a group who can do a few nights of runs, Get your white raven.

With a strategy its much easier then ifrit X.

edit: or u can pay 49M for it on durandal http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...fore-1.0-Ends? which really is not a bad price considering the time crunch.

With barely a week left I couldn't care less about speed, I just want a win - badly.

Don't suppose anyone else here who's won already is on Ragnarok?
