Regional Servers revisited...

Okay, thanks for the info but this preliminary decision they are making about existing players being on the same server(supposedly Japan) at launch and not being able to move for awhile is going to cause some issues in my opinion. Okay we start playing, make a free company, getting people joined, our friends, etc. and then down the road we get this option of moving.... Which I assume everybody will do to go to their regional server (eu or na) and thus splitting everybody up...

Why not give us the choice at the start so we can go where we want get settled in and not have to worry about it later...

As it has been mentioned earlier, you will be able to choose any server in any region, except for those restricted to new players only, at the beginning of ARR, with the exception of the server being full. New players will have the option of creating a character on new or old servers in any region, unless the server is full.

that was clarified that that is talking about old players moving to the new servers. old players will not be able to move to the new servers for new players only because they didn't want people to jump on those servers and taking over a new economy. that's why both responses about moving in this thread states old players cannot move to the new servers made and designated as new player only servers.

they will be able to move to them much later which is what the not allowed to move for a while comes from. they just want those new servers to get an economy up and stable before the moves to those servers are allowed.

it was clarified that you will stay on your server on arr relaunch, but you will be able to move to the regional servers like the server merge was handled. if there's room on the regional server you wish to move to you can move to that regional server one time only. the only restriction is you cannot move your old character to a server that is a new player only regional server.
