I don't think people complaining want the game right here right now. Understand that while SE is doing something nothing short of amazing if they pull it off, we know absolutely nothing about how combat will work , PvP , raids, etc. These things are standard and for a game going into alpha, we know nothing about the fundamentals. All we know currently is there will be final fantasy things like moogles, chocobos,and summons..... I've heard that way to much by now. We all want more info, and no it dosent need to be gameplay, give an example of how you game will work.

While I certainly agree with your post, I don't think anything like you mention is going to be revealed anytime soon, because imo, i bet they don't even know how any of that will work at this time. It's not that they are withholding information, there IS no information to reveal. 2.0 at start will probably be nothing more than 1.0 is right now with a new story line added here and there, a new engine and and new UI.

XIV isnt using the Luminious engine.

XIV isnt using the Luminious engine.

They are using a "Sister Version" of the Luminous Engine, but its specifically made for FFXIV ARR. So it won't have some of the core things about Luminous, but there are somethings that are coming from that engine though. The engine is more of a " Blank name" Engine that they don't know what to call it yet .

Contests are all fine and good, but it's been far less than a slow drip of information. Why not hold these contests AND give info, instead of being lazy? As it stands, most of the reps' posts are just retranslated from the JP forums. Anyone with half a brain can simply go there and get the same info we do.
