when your biggest challenge is simply revamping maps and importing assets from one engine to another, a short time frame is expected.
We got enough patience i think.
Alpha should be out in about 10 days, and we still don't have a generic road map about their new concepts, as someone said before..
-What about the new bs, and how it will work in longer fights? How TP will work in long fight ? (we just saw some fight versus oneshottable mobs..)?
New istances/raid (something about new mechanics and not just tank & spank)?
New loot system? How new market will work (will it be server wide this time i hope? )
What is the point of pvp? Revamped skills and class/job and concept behind the changes?
HOW ENDGAME will work? Specific housing information?
The new quest system is all about kill / gather or can we expect a lot of variety of quest?
Dynamic events? Secondary things to do (like jumping puzzle or e-sports) ?
And a lot more of thing...
When a new game is announced you'll know his basics example, GW2 announced:
You know from the beggining that it will be action based, dynamics event, no more class trident (tank healer dps) , massive world vs world vs world pvp, explorable dungeons with 4 way to follow, you know that it will be skill based and not gear based, you know that the AH will be WORLD WIDE with all the servers etc.
We know NOTHING specific about the basic systems at least.
This is why me and a lot more of ppl are getting annoyed.![]()

If they did it EFFICIENTLY then it shouldn't matter. Iirc, vanilla FFXIV was developed as a mess to begin with, but if 2.0 was developed in a satisfactory manner, that shouldn't be an issue.
Example - you spend 2 hours making a dinner, and it tastes average. Your mum spends 1 hour making dinner, and it tastes absolutely amazing.
Not the best example, but you get what I mean - efficiency of the development process counts as well.
Note that I'm not saying that the 2.0 team is necessary efficient; just pointing out that time isn't a very good argument to use as a concern.
And just how much of this information such as this do we get about other games before their release? Honest question. I haven't played much other games so I can't really compare. We got enough patience i think.

a little bit more then the ffxiv reborn website has right now... but not the encyclopedia styled game guide they seem to be asking for.
Why are you worried about it in 2 weeks its not going to matter, if you get in alpha im sure you'll get some hands on if not whats a few more months we already waited a year. its like watching a bunch of kids at Christmas time, they cant wait just one more day always have to sneak a peak early. We got enough patience i think.

OP you're my hero. <3
7UP!
This, every MMO new or old detailed the basic play systems ...at least more than "you can do this and that." SE says there's a system that basically rewards how you play...how? What are the parameters? Is it based on how you combo/how much? How fast things dies/how slow things dies?
Just really basic information people are asking for.
