Something like this would be neat if they had in the config options. along with maybe of handful of fonts to choose from. Time will tell though. I know i prefer not to use user generated addons as they can get pretty iffy.

I'm sure you can communicate with the PS3 visual keyboard or with a usb (or bluetooth) keyboard.
The handicapp he mean was more about the speed to klick a skill. Instead of moving a cursor to left or right to choose the skill the gamepad players can now choose a skill like the keyboard players direct with pressing a button.
That's what I meant. Visual keyboard is slow as hell though, so they should allow using a normal one.I'm sure you can communicate with the PS3 visual keyboard or with a usb (or bluetooth) keyboard.

I... don't see why you quoted me. I was merely stating it makes sense we are going to be able to use the normal keyboard because the visual one would handicap ps3 users.

Well said Premium. They are changing it a lot. Lots of things different from E3 build to Gamescom build.
I am also sad to see they changed the icons for Jobs, I really dont like the gold engraved style, i much prefer the current setup. This is what I mean:
But it is such a tiny thing that I'm just nitpicking.
I also find this to be very disgusting and out of place, but I know there will be likely a toggle for it so no worries:
These are the only 2 things i can think of that I dislike, everything else I think is absolutely fantastic, i love the design, the functionality, and placement (though you can move it). The additions are also welcomed such as X/Y on minimap and Gil/gear slots always visible.Yah I hope they give us the option to use the original Job Icons (with color). They stand out much better, and are easier to identify than just boring gold engravings (every icon the same color).
Just to confirm - PS3 users can of course use a USB keyboard for communication and there will also be an on-screen keyboard as well.

They're not going to give you an option to use different job icons... but somebody will most certainly make a UI mod for that. Don't forget the moddable UI people
Frankly I don't really care about them and I don't know why anyone would complain about the icons. But take solace knowing that little things like these can easily be modded.
the icons are not the same color, take a closer look- the bard icon is yellow and the dragoon is ... burgandy.(every icon the same color).
I'd like to say for the record that I think the currently-In-Dev UI looks like a massive improvement over the current UI, and I like the feel of it. It looks like it is clear and will be able to convey information to the player in an organised fashion (and customization is always a bonus).
