i'm the same way actually. you don't have to give me the exact details of what you are planning because i don't need to know everything about what you plan because i know ideas change. what i do want to know is more along the lines of what is the problem with what you see now and how you plan to fix it, but to be thought out enough that it doesn't come across and leave more questions than answers.Agreed. This is why i dont like to see information for information's sake. i would rather a well thought out and properly translated and properly formed coherent update. something more official than the scraps of tidbits people glom on to out of lack of any better information. it would just be nice if people would calm down and realize the game is still being developed and to take information with a grain of salt.
just look at the fighting going on about the token system right now. if it had been clear when it was first announced instead of a partial statement here, a vague statement there, and a line in an interview later people would not be completely fighting because they don't have the information. even with the piece here and there it wouldn't be as bad if they were actually updating the arr site to show the new information coming out.
i know i'll be honest to say that i know more about what's going on in game by reading rein's translation thread than i do from watching to the live letters, reading the letters from the producer, reading the community rep responses, and interviews done through magazines combined. to me, rein has been the best form of information and the best way to get information on updates and upcoming changes to arr.

Yoshi-P - "during our most recent global PR planning meeting, we came to the conclusion that the most effective way to introduce version 2.0 to the world would be with a flood of new material rather than just a trickle. In order to make version 2.0 a success, we need to appeal to not only our current players (naturally!), but also as many new players as possible, including PS3 owners." ...... "We want to place the highest priority on keeping the 2.0 development schedule on track and on time, and prepare a large-scale promotional campaign filled with mind-blowing stuff!"
'sall i'm saying man.... 'saaaallll i'm saying. i've been feeling starved for info, checking the forums, lodestone, facebook, youtube etc. everyday. waiting for each upcoming gaming conferences etc just to end up having to wait for the next one and the next one... please look forward to... we can't reveal.... etc etc etc.
We have gotten some useful info sure, I'm not saying we haven't. I like the limit break trailer and the arcanist/summoner reveal and the last live letter from the producer was great. but I feel we've gotten this info in the "trickle" that they said they were trying to avoid pretty much. I thought they were going to sock us in the face with an overwhelming, awesome, ultra comboooooo!! of information and details to really /psyche and hype people up, and get all of the websites buzzing etc. That did not happen. the limit break trailer (for me) was an open hand slap to the face maybe lol but you know what i'm saying!
They've got to ramp this bad boy up! like folks have been saying, people who have quit the game are still having quite a hard time getting any incentive to want to play ARR if they still have even found out about it. Even for potential new players a looooot of mmo players don't know that this is all happening nor do they care, and if they do know it's happening they don't know exactly what's happening. the folks who have the most inclining of what's going on is us, the current players/ more hardcore final fantasy fans, which means they haven't reach out enough like they said they were going to do.
C'mon SE! give us that bulletstorm boot to the face of "mind-blowing stuff" and not just a trickle, because regardless of what was said, that's what is currently happening.

I feel your pain. I too check this site daily, even while my account was inactive due to lack of content. I'm patiently waiting for the storm of info but i'm not about to force it out of them.Yoshi-P - "during our most recent global PR planning meeting, we came to the conclusion that the most effective way to introduce version 2.0 to the world would be with a flood of new material rather than just a trickle. I dont recall if there was a rough estimated time for this flood (i think there was something about it supposed to be happening now) but i also recall Yoshi saying something about not releasing too much until the game was closer to completion so there isnt a storm of information then a huge lull while they finish it all up. that gap between info and actual release could be enough time for many people to become uninterested. besides once they play all their cards, what will they have left to tell us? "ya, we changed the variables on the fight algorithm form y23 X 6 = 442 to make the denominator....."
i am expecting the flood to come maybe 2 months before the release or at least 2 months before the announcemet of the release and i dont expect the game to be out until at least the 2Q of 2013
the original was supposed to be before the end of summer which is why people were so hyped up before gamescom is because they were expecting the info to start the flood around that time. we were then told multiple times he was going to this and that expo and hold off for them.
i'm not saying we haven't gotten info, but we have it because we have looked all over for it. the people they are trying to get to join the game are not going to check multiple sites and read tons of interviews. that's why i feel they are really missing the boat with the arr site not being a place they are putting all of their released info on so everything they have released is in one place.

Agreed. I know Reinheart is doing an excellent job of translating and keeping track of info but nothing official is coming in from SE and what we do get really is a trickle.
i thought there was something denoting a timeframe. thanks for mentioning it.
yes, rein is doing a fantastic job translating info for those of us that frequent the forums, but i wonder what % of people that quit the game back almost 2 years ago even look at these forums anymore. we also look at how many people do we actually think that would be a targeted final fantasy fan on console has even heard about arr or anything about it? i know i started a new job recently and was talking about the game because we were talking about games we played in the past and i mentioned xiv and they looked at me like i was nuts. they had no idea the game was even still running much less that it was still planning on releasing to ps3.
if a big time gamer in an electronics store doesn't even know about arr nor the upcoming release it says to me the pr for se has been pretty bad.

The flood of info will be like a roller coaster before ARR starts tons and tons and tons of info in a couple minsso you'll have to swallow that flood ..think about it
Still waiting for that "flood".
