    ARR - 100 Inventory Limitation

    I'm having a difficult time seeing how the reduction in character inventory slots to 100 is going to be livable. Just eyeballing my current inventory, and backing out ammo, excess shadowbind items, lures, etc., and allowing for the fact that equipped gear doesn't count toward that limit, I might be able to get down to 125-130 slots. I don't even have the individual class crafting heads, and I don't have craft gear switch from craftsmanship to control. I do currently carry 10 food/meds items, and 4 hamlet-specific items (weathered tools, and gather body).

    It's going to be very bothersome/annoying if we have to store class/job gear on our retainers and be required to visit and swap gear everytime we want to change jobs. Further I can see potential conflicts and restriction to farming/harvesting/etc.

    Bottom line, I simply don't see how this going to prove viable. Am I missing something here?

    The current 200 limit was ALWAYS temporary. This was stated multiple times by devs.

    We use to survive in XI with half that amount of slots with gear taking up space. People will adapt... they just need to stop hording stuff.

    As long as it doesnt take 6 seconds an item to move stuff from character to retainer or whatever with the horrendous lag then I don't really mind. I'll just carry gear for the jobs I play most and store the rest.

    add to that the gear sets wont take up inventory but I'm doubtfull of those if there as restrictive as i've read. can't use 1 item in multiple gear sets meaning it'll take up inventory. can't switch out one item thats part of a set or you'll remove the full set or whatever. it seems like an incredibly restrictive system.

    Ýou forget that we gonna get gearsets and items in these sets won't count into the 100 inventory limit´.
    This system is not finished yet, its pre alpha so don't expect everything works perfectly right now. And there is no need to carry all the crafting materials etc. all the time.

    It worked fine before they raised inventory too...

    But items in your gear sets don't take up inventory space no? In which case you should have plenty of space.

    Instead on XI you'd fill your entire inventory with gear for one job. Oh the life of a Thief ~

    I don't think we can compare the two games that easily. XIV allows you to switch job on the fly. Reducing your inventory makes this feature obsolete.
    All I can picture is that we'll have to plan ahead for what we need to change to and prepare for it or items in your gear sets for each of your jobs don't take up inventory space regardless of if you're wearing them or not.

    Who knows!

    I have about 150 slots dedicated to gear. I think ill be fine after i get the gear out of there. Retainers will have 175 slots after all.
