SE just make a vanity slot to solve all your issues with this.

Arguing against more customization is asinine. I'm astounded. Also why are some posters acting like they are in charge of development resources at SE?

The reason why this is a basic function of nearly every MMO on the market now is because it was recognized as a major flaw in the earliest MMOs. Let's set aside the fact that wearing Darklight gear with melded felt looks completely absurd. MMO devs have universally added this as a feature so that the art on older gear is no longer wasted by the addition of new stat-superior gear. If anything, it gives a wisp of life to old content because some players care so much about their customization they are willing to run outdated content just for the aesthetic properties of the gear dropped. It does nothing but benefit the developers and the players in the long-term.

Some people don't care what their avatars look like and that's fine, but I can't see a rational reason to argue against more customization when the market has proven that it is a highly desired feature.

all this cause a few ppl want to run in swimsuite/yukata to garuda/AV/CC etc.
It would be ok for town but not for more and gladly SE stated that they won't implement something like this.

And its stupid as well to say it would be gamebreaking if they bring 2.0 out without vanity slots (what probably gonna happen)

I dont like vanity slots. It makes gear less impactful - why you take no damage, you look naked!

I wouldnt mind a town gear / outside zone gear page though, so people can easily dress up if they want - for town (and the gear has its own stats).

Perhaps the gear can only be connected to similar gear. Like Darklight armor could look like militia gear if you wanted - but it would never look like weathered gear. Still wouldnt be happy with it there, but at least it wouldnt look as retarded - as I assure you people would do (connecting their swim suit with paladin epic tank armor and the like).

How many people for doesnt mean you cant logically argue aganist. Also - sometimes its better not to listen to your player base as they dont know what they want. :P

Vanity slots allow people to look like how they want. You may have the small group of people who will use the swimsuits, but some people like AF gear and want to use it as a vanity piece.

I bet if it was asked in-game, not on the forums, people would want it. And not listen to the same 5 people making the same point, ignoring one important feature that ones who do want it want a restriction of some kind.

I dont think its a good idea, SE tends to be "realistic high fantasy" and this idea destroys that.

Even if every single person but me said yes I would still say no, I dont care how many say yes. You have a bad point to say the world says its ok. "world said women need to stfu and listen to men" I dont think women liked / listened to that.

Cause the swimsuite/yukata reason is the only one cause a bunch of ppl cry for this now. And i can expect ppl to play in propper gear this is not a fashionshow and gladly SE sees this the same way.

Moving what AlphaDragoon said in the other twin thread. No idea if his suggestion was said previously but it is the first time I read it.

That is a majorly weaksauce reason for not including vanity slots.

I seriously hope they reconsider. For those who are truly "unable" to distinguish without seeing crappy mismatched min/maxer gear on other players, just put the option to turn vanity slots off visually for your game.

That sounds pretty damn golden to me. I'd support this thread with that. I want to be able to see someones strengths by what they have on - and while I know a lot of people would be using vanity slots to look cool quite a few would still be doing it to look retarded.

Being able to turn it off, boom issue solved for me.
