The only thing I'd like to see changed is the hamlet seal drop rate. All of the other requirements seem fine. I know several people who want nothing to do with the relic quest simply because of how boring Hamlet Defense is.
Or...you know, they can accomodate fights to where there is no UI lag or server latency. I imagine that Ifrit Extreme would be a fairly easy fight if you could run in and out of plumes/eruptions with no animation lock and the new servers.
All the stuff u mentionned have nothing to do with the quest objectives... it's just server/mechanics/operational issues here. the quest itself is totally fine. not extremely hard nor extremely easy... just right.
Drop rate is 100% if you are #1 provi and almost every run a seal if you are #2 or #3...
You just need to choose either to work hard to abolish the random factor from your progress by making into top 3 or work hard to spam hamlets without being Provi and pray to
bebeh jeezus for a random seal... iI did the first option and it worked out fine![]()

I don't have millions of points worth of stuff to donate every time, that's not really an option. I've done many a 60k run with no provisioner and have only 1/9 seals to show for it. HD is still boring as hell. Even though i do like the gear rewards, running in circles for 20 mins blows goat balls.1Drop rate is 100% if you are #1 provi and almost every run a seal if you are #2 or #3...

Ya it sucks to try be Provi i know what u mean,I don't have millions of points worth of stuff to donate every time, that's not really an option. Here's what we did:
We gathere all the peeps who where down at the same time "static" and had people
farming raptors for skins/sinew, people gathering Resin and people crafting the leather/boots.
Then we gathered like 1.5 mil points and had one person who could do hams for 20 hrs in a row rank in top 3 (#1, #2) mostly...
Then we had all the peeps in static doing it for as long as they could do it clearing up most of the seals for everyone in that hamlet. then repeat.
It took us like 2ish weeks to get all 75 seals... was pretty horrible but think that u only need to go through it once.
If I was developing the game I would definitely change it. I'm not going to elaborate tonight, but the way seals are set up are horrific and doesn't improve player skill at all; merely going through repetitious and extremely boring actions.
Are you aware that only one person on the entire server can obtain #1 provisioner? That's hardly a good method to get your seals. You could spend 20mil on items to donate and not even get top 3 if 3 people spend 21mil.
If you're not going down this route either because you don't have the gil or because you're not crazy enough to spend 60mil on 9 seals then you've 3 options.
1) Ask 7 nice people to do nothing but hamlet for a week for no benefit of their own.
2) Create a static party and spend 8 weeks getting all 8 people seals.
3) Spend 3-4 months doing it with PUGs where every run will have 8 new people who need a seal.
How is this fun gameplay?
You can rule #1 out because chances are if you need seals you weren't around to help those 7 people get theirs. Why should they help you?
#2 you can rule out because chances are there aren't 8 people in your LS or friend list who need seals.
So you're left with #3 which is so off putting it's not even worth bothering with.
I've barely played this game the past 4 months because I missed the boat with hamlet and everyone has been busy with the rest of the relic quest, which unlike hamlet needs to be done multiple times.
In short, we need less of this shit in ARR if the game is to succeed.

I have a huge issue with the part i bolded. that's what needs to change. Your methods are fine, given the system we have today. The problem is that the current loot system is utter bullshit. Runing in circles for 20 mins (tank in HD) sucks ass, much less running in circles for 20 hours.Ya it sucks to try be Provi i know what u mean,

In addition to some fundamental changes to HD to add fun where there is none. (Or not much anyway) They could easily exchange the drop rate of seals for the drop rate of gear. You shouldn't be able to get a complete gear set before you can get even 2 seals. They should use the gear drops as incentives for those that have thier seals to help those that don't. It doesn't make sense to have it the other way around.
I understand the arguement that it's not fair to those that did endure the pain of HD seal drops. But really should it have been painful at all? No. SE needs to fix it to make thier game more fun, extreme repetition is not fun.

Well if u have a #1 provi in your pt seals drop 100% for him in his private loot and u get lots of seals drop in the public loot aswell. u can distribute them to the people to get em done with seals one person at a time. Are you aware that only one person on the entire server can obtain #1 provisioner? I didnt say the way we did it is the best way to do it. but in a lil family/ls like ours it was efficiant.
We go all 3/3 for all 8/8 and the effort to get top 3 was divided by 8. everyone pitched in some labour so it wasnt all that horrible.
And them 20hrs straight where kinda fun and bonding.
What we went through we will remember pleasantly even if we passed out on the floor a couple of times during those hrs.
In the end all i know is all mah thugs have their seals done now and we dun need to hamlet again like ever...
You can do it however u want i just sugested a way that worked for us![]()

But i kinda had an excrucienting kind of fun doing it. it all depends on how much u want your relic tbh man.
I like to be in my static and not be a random pickup ever. so i inv ested in 7 people to get the relic quest done. u see, we did hams together and we moved on the rest of the steps together aswell. it works out for the rest of the steps too dude. u wont have to look for parties to do 17 min dungeons and stuff. that shit is painfull dude.
