    We keep the THM for Sanguine Rite at the beginning and when the 5 golems pop. Currently we are trying to DPS enough to only deal with one pop of the 5 golems on phase 2, but we are always like 2-4% away from not dealing with the second pop when the second wave pops. It's too bad because each time I need to be on golems with Monk, Nael is only getting DPS'd by the DRG and he regens health so quickly.

    Was also thinking of going at it with two Monks, because fists of wind helps going up and down the stairs and taking out golems, but then again DRG always seems to parse a bit better on this fight so not sure how that would work out.

    Lastly, any secret tips to share about the final stage of meteors, how many do you send to help out?

    We tried to completely pass the Golem phase. (Holding him around 83% for Dalamund Dive) once he lands (around 81%) We completely push him to below 60% asap. If you do get golems still (which we did once) the WHM kills the first one, then let the monk (using FOW) kill the other 4.

    I would not advise using 2 monks unless you use 2 bards, because the DPS will suffer on Dalamund Dive, and you may not be able to bypass this everytime without the extra DPS.

    Tips for last metoer phase: 2x BARD, seriously they RAPE meteors. Barrage, and 3 WS Combo's, Light Shot, 3000 TP....I mean it is amazing. each bard stays on top of the green platform (They can run down the steps if need be to help), the 2 BLMs stay further down.

    South Side BLM: Nuke across the platform *north side* (thund => thundara) 2x low spawning metors. Then nuke South side mid spawning meteor. Then South Side meteor spawning very low, directly overhead.

    Side tips: PLD pop Hallowed Ground, and have the WHM on the ground level help with fast meteors.

    Bards make this a joke.

    This setup is PAINFUL as the solo WHM, but if you limit getting hit by avoidable moves and your WHM has good MP management, its makes the fight so much easier.

    Well we did six hours of straight runs yesterday. On our first run we got him to 37% past the golems on phase 2 with a ton of time still left on the timer, I think something like 18 minutes. This was the first time we got to the meteors constantly falling so we needed practice on that, so we eventually died. After that, literally every run had someone dc'ing, someone lagging so hard they couldn't input moves timely, a complete client crash or the occasional random magic resist from a meteor even though our THM has like 500 mag acc. It was so damn frustrating, especially the whole server issue since it can't be helped. Eventually after hours and hours we had to stop since naturally we were all in a bad mood. SE really should have not put a fight with a pre 2.0 time limit such as this in the game if they couldn't fix their client first, really isn't fair. Morale was so low due to all the DC's and client crashes that we had a hard time focusing.

    Going to give it another go today when everyone gets on, hopefully it goes for the better.

    We did not try the two Bard setup, but we did switch our setup around when we got to the %37. We went with two monks and a dragoon and one white mage instead of two. Kept the rest of the setup the same. The fight was so much easier with three DD. He didn't teleport as much, spam skills as much, etc.

    When we were going in with two DD only, it was painful to get him past the golem phase on phase two. We were always stuck like %4 off and had to do a second wave of golems, not to mentioned he seemed to teleport a ton more. Our DD our DPS'ing to the max, but without a team of all relics the two Bard strategy would prove to be rather hard. Every job DPSing a little more definitely adds up.

    So first we are going to see if this final meteor phase is doable with a THM, THM and Bard. Hopefully we get a win tonight.

    Have you done this fight before? Our group is filled up but we do have the need for the occasional Paladin on days our tank can't make it; today for example.

    There is actually a video of someone doing it with 3 DD, but I'm sure it will take a ton of practice for those shooting the meteors down to get it. IE we need to get there consistently.

    I've come to the realization that this fight is just not possible without a solid group of the SAME people who are willing to do a lot of runs on a regular basis.
    This is my biggest problem with FFXIV. Who wants to play a game where we are forced to play with the same 8 people all the time?

    It is for sure possible to do it like this, you'd just have to get pretty lucky.

    Sounds like more of a problem of being bad to me if you think you should be able to get every item in the game with any random 7 people standing in Ul'dah whose eyes go in two different directions (similar to yourself).

    How many White Raven earrings do you have? How many relic weapons do you have?

    Update: We nearly took him down, but timed out past the golems and 40% meteor phase, almost to the 20%. It was close. Mainly due to a few too many golem phases forcing two monks to be on golems and not Nael and a few stupid deaths with the DD needing to wait on raises. When we appeared in the lobby everyone congratulated us at least. LMAO

    Going to try a two Dragoon one Monk setup this time. The golems kill me in 2-3 hits though, which is the problem. I'm a monk and if I die as the only one in the party, we are screwed with no FoW.

    We will win, later tonight I'd say. Certainly before 2.0. Never been in a fight where it felt amazing to time out until now. Went with a 3 DD setup.
