If i had a penny for all each person that i saw go out of his way to be as hostile and mean as possible on this forum in the last two years, especially towards the game and the team working on it, I'd be probably able to afford buying SE.
More like it wouldn't be the first time SE isabout something. It will just come eventually, when it's readylate![]()

Soon... Valve time soon
They have to sell this game a second time after a bomb of a launch, they really should be more forthcoming with information if they want to recapture a western market, maybe the Japanese players are more patient but western market/players have a LOT of other MMO and game choices so if they say they're going to put out weekly updates they should stick to it
Personally I don't care because I'm already in this game for the long haul, but with the announcement of regional servers I'm sure we all plan to play NA servers for better latency, it would be nice if they tried to sell this game better and do some regular information posts along with better advertisement so we don't have ghost town NA servers come 2.0
Yes we would see several threads of ppl complaining about the look of them ,they size of their boobs, too few hairstyles wahh wahh wahhhhhhThe thing that bothers me the most is that, at least in my opinion, the website updates don't have to be that big. Some lore, or even some new screenshots a week would suffice. Can you imagine the reaction if they just showed a screenshot of a female highlander, for instance?
I always found funny to see people coming here (or in other gaming forums) trying to dictate when a developer should release information, hiding behind faux-marketing justifications the fact that they simply want to know and see more as a personal agenda.
As a matter of fact, marketing-wise, witholding information is just as effective (or sometimes more) than spamming it in creating hype and expectation, especially when all the assets aren't ready for the best showing. That is why most serious betas have a strict NDA in place.
They'll release more information when they'll feel ready to. Between the letter from the prioducer live and the 25th anniversary event they already gave quite a lot condensed in a small amount of time.
If you think you know better then them about what they should disclose and when, then I'm sorry to burst a bubble, but here comes the surprise: You don't.

It's not so much dictating when just stating common sense. If they're trying to capture new players, especially for a game that has already failed once before, there needs to be a ton of info, screenshots and videos to capture that audience. If this was a new game "when they're ready to" works, but this is a relaunch, we should be overwhelmed with information about it, especially since ARR is a relaunch of an MMO that already exists and currently running, there should at least be the basics up and no one can deny this.
Obviously Crystal Tower details wouldn't be listed, by why not the battle system? Why not the craft/gatherng systems? Why not any systems information? You could argue "unfinished", but even throwaway korean MMOs lists out and show off details before release of even a beta.
If marketing was just a matter of common sense, everyone would do that job successfully. If I had a dollar for every self schooled marketing "consultant" that brought guillible companies into disastrous marketing operations, I'd be rich.
Excessive spam of unfinished assets can give an extremely erroneous image of a game, creating damaging expectations. So no, sorry, but your "common sense" doesn't make you suddenly know better than people that did this job for several years.
There's a reason why throwaway korean MMOs are perceived by most of the public as low quality experiences. Most of them are known for having low quality assets, and don't get as dissected as harshly as a game with the Final Fantasy name attached to it. The WAY overblown reaction to the unfinished assets in the TGS trailer should be a quite telling example. You could argue "unfinished", but even throwaway korean MMOs lists out and show off details before release of even a beta.
When someone says "they should do it like this because it's just common sense", I can't help but roll my eyes. It's so much common sense that people study for several years between degrees and masters to get it right.

People have been fairly positive about the one artwork we've seen actually. People aren't always as unsatisfied as some make out. The first female Roagedyn (Merlwyb), for instance, has been extremely well recieved. There will always be someone who complains regardless, but then this is a discussion forum where people share their different opinions, so that's kinda how it works.
