They do actually look fairly rough which could be due to the lack of proper lighting and shaders not being fully implemented, however we don't know if this is the case or not.
I don't think they look like plastic at all I'll save my judgement though when it's in beta phase and not alpha and not jump to conclusions right off the bat.
Models don't have as much depth as the models in 1.0. this shouldn't come as a surprise, i said a year ago in a ps3 related post that due to PS3 memory constraints texture depth was going to take a hit.
could you please provide comparison, with detailed explanation? Im really confused what people say about rough model/plasticky/cartoony. I just see the new engine has more cell shading for the models, and I think its better than what we have now.

i'm not going to compare screenshots for you, nor am i going to wright a five page paragraph for something that's easily seen in a side by side comparison of screen shots. a lack of texture depth leads to this plastic looking issue people are so upset about. this issue may also be limited to the developers build or the PS3 build of the game.

You want to see plastic? Look at SWOTR everything in the game looks like they just smeared vasaline ontop of it.
