However, when you change to a different grand company, you will be unable to equip items that are not from the grand company you belong to.

Is this going to also apply to "Recruit" equipment? Such as for example, the Lominsan Dalmatica, maybe the Ul'dahn Longbow, Gridanian Bottoms, etc. I'm referring to equipment that was obtainable from all 3 companies before joining a specific one. It seems kind of unfair to lock out these items. Equipment available only by pledging your allegiance to a Grand Company seems fair, restrict that. The other parts were offered out between companies as an "incentive" deal so restricting these seems a little unfair.
