Would it be possible to have gear wear in 2.0?

I've always wanted the damaged % to be reflected on gear, based on tiers. Would it be possible on 2.0?

Example: When you are at 100% durability you look new and pristine.
When you get to 0% it looks rugged, torn and mudded.

And a few different stages in between.

Not game changing, but a nice touch.

Certainly possible but not likely given the time and resources it would take. I'd rather see them use the time to make more/better looking gear.

Well, using this forum logic to get it out the way now:

"What does this bring to my gameplay? Why should SE waste time on...ugh aesthetics when they should be focusing on making my gameplay better? The attention to detail isn't what SE should be focusing on!"

On a serious note though, I think the fact you lose potency as your weapon wears down and eventually breaks for example is already good enough, visual wear and tear would be possible if the engine itself can render it well, otherwise they'll have to double up on certain assets and it would be a bit too much resources for such a small touch of aesthetics.

visually(there's already an icon), gear damage would be a waste of resources, time consuming and pointless to the game in general.
(you can easily laminate your monitor and add cracks with a non-permanent magic marker)

Depends on how they make it. If they simply do something like merge 2 textures (the original + the one showing dirt/wear), it should have a pretty low overhead. Whether that will look good is another question but that's another problem to ponder.

Regarding Ikkitousen/Queen's Blade, skip the nudity and all is good.

As long as it doesn't look like Queen's Blade and Soul Caliber, then that's fine. While I like the idea, I think it would be better if they added it after the expansion... like, way after. It's an afterthought, but that's a good thing. It's a nice, small touch to make the game more immersive.

It takes incredible resources to do this. It's not usually realistic for an MMO.
