New Era, new fashion?

I was just thinking the other day and again just now while watching the live producers letter and seeing new NPC armor; that I hope it means we get new fashion as well.

Some of the armory we have now are awesome, some are cute/sexy, but I think with a new Era, we need new fashions. I really dislike the look of half robes, vintage robe, militia robe, actons and frankly those ugly pattens ><. Can we get some Mage shoes that don't look like they belong on a clown or court jester? The Mage colleseum gear is cute but there are just no decent looking shoes to go with it!

I hope in ARR, with the look of new NPC gear, DoL/DoH AF Sets, we can finally get some decent looking gears. Vintage and militia robes are just so bulky looking. The melee classes have some decent looking gear to wear, seems mages get some of the ugliest gear possible. I never see anyone wearing actons and I don't blame them, yuck!

These are just my thoughts, I know some people may actually like the looks of the above mentioned gears. I apologize if I offended anyone's tastes lol.

Not the most important subject for the new game but I hope the devs will be taking the opportunity to give us new designs instead of the same stuff we have now but new colors and stats.

The old style gear actually looks nice. It's very medieval. Pity about gathering gear though (Boots + gloves look a bit weird).

The gear designs are one of the best things XIV currently has going for it. They managed to hit this sweet spot between aesthetically interesting, and yet functional. No tacky, frivolous spikes and bikini armors (Aside from the Colosseum gear, which I really dislike), but not boring leather and chainmail

I would really hate to see this game lose yet another unique and interesting aspect to tacky, mass appeal shit

Don't get me wrong, I love medieval looking gear. I just think we could use some nicer designs, not all medieval clothing was big, bulky, puffy or oversized.

Main complaints are the Mage gears, especially in the foot department. I hate hate hate pattens. They are ugly I would just love some nice looking Mage boots, some normal looking shoes without pointy toes like we are jokers. I'm a girl, I like to be functional but also look nice and I play Mage jobs most of the time. Vanya set is really pretty but only classes can equip it.

I actually really like most of the plate armour in the game.. but when it comes to my THM I stick to my AF because the other gear I have looks so terrible (stats are about the same as my AF armour so I don't mind).

If they redesign anything it should be Bard AF.

I hope so. I'm sick of how "fluffy" all the cloth gear is. Not all sleeves need to be that massive, Square-Enix.

The only non-AF gear I really like are the doublets/doublet vests.

I like how most of the gear looks (compared to Lightning's Valhalla outfit and Tidus's 1980s Vanilla Ice cosplay and David Bowie in Dissidia) comparatively bland. This makes it where when you get an awesome set of gear you actually stand out for your efforts. However, if that were to change I'd be fine too.

On the other hand, I LOVE the fashion in AION. In fact, I love fashion in general. I like games where you can strut your stuff and everyone can look cool, wacky, different, and original. I go on second life, for christ's sake. And if XIV will change the gear to be a bit more fashionable, I'd be fine with that too.

It's a hard dilemma for me. :<
