Not if you are making a crit build (which most people don't do correctly) in which case, they are the best in slot. To make a crit build, you have to both hit your stat caps and stack crit rate in every slot possible. These wristlets are the only way. Assuming I can get these wristlets and the tricorne to go with them, my WAR will crit 35% of the time.

But I can out parse other WARs with my crit build. Is that silly? It's a legitimate way to build a DD WAR. My guess is that it would work for DRG as well, but my DRG gear is really lacking so I haven't tried.

but are you outparsing them because your build is better or are you outparsing them because their dps rotation isn't as good? and speaking of builds, do they have what's considered an optimal build otherwise? correlation != causation

That's a valid point, tbh I'm not sure. But honestly, if I'm not missing and my stats are capped, I don't see what's wrong with wanting to crit more often. I'm just using slots that if I were tanking I'd be using for enmity or HP gear and devoting them to crit rate instead. Why is that so bad?

What are the other options for a WAR DD (Flames)? It's these or Rubelite Bracelets for +3 STR. (My VIT is capped so adding VIT won't add DMG.) I'll take the hit of 3 less STR for more crits because crits are fun. But go ahead and use your cookie-cutter WAR build if you like, it won't bother me at all.

My reasons for wanting them are simple:
they're U/U
they're rare as duck teeth
they probably won't be obtainable in 2.0
they fit my crit build

I don't care if there isn't another soul that wants them. That makes me want them even more.
