Your right, they just make it default in the game (auto-crafting).Sure but they are not the same either. Its like a hacker that becomes a game designer - his games arent hacks. But it is a school story when talking about hacks.
I wouldnt have taken it as such if you didnt say "Actually". Like I am wrong. Addons sanctioned by the mmos that I've at least heard of are prohibited from completing botting like actions.

Auto crafting actually combats bots.
A botter can easily make a script for gathering and crafting - a no botter cannot and is the only one really screwed over by the design choice.
That being said some people might like not auto crafting and can argue it would be more fun the other way and blizzard should have just continued to ban auto crafting.
But auto crafting was made by blizzard, it wasnt an addon.
I said its now default in WoW, I did not say it was an addon. That is the same logic they used for Diablo3, RMT's are there, so why not just make everyone a RMT (while they get their cut from every transaction).Auto crafting actually combats bots.

"Auto-crafting" was once called botting, blizzard testing these waters and obv succeeded, they found out that people are naturally lazy, and dont want to work for things, do you know how many professions in wow actually make money from crafting gear or something? I mean real money... not 15gold here and there. Crafting in wow because of auto-crafting is virtually worthless outside of gemming gear.
The only reason crafting is actually used at all in that game and people can forever sell materials is because the game forces you to constantly create new characters and relvl crafts to gem those new characters.

I think the priority was on the last part, and they used the "combatting RMT's" as an excuse for players not to get overly mad at it.
But I assumed you insinuated it was an addon since we are talking about addons. I dont agree with a lot of blizzards recent choices so we could talk about that all day.
WoW also made crafting things for yourself possible- which was pretty neat I liked making my own gear all the way up to 60. In FFXI and FFXIV unless you level slower then a turtle or level crafting first you will almost never get the opportunity to craft armor for yourself.
WoW did something different with their crafting classes, its a design choice difference.

I craft plenty for myself even with all 50's (except fishing) while trying to double/triple meld things. The point was though crafting being usful beyond gemming gear... which currently you can craft/sell tones of gear for gil, generally spiritbond gear but also gear used for melding (which is actually used).I think the priority was on the last part, and they used the "combatting RMT's" as an excuse for players not to get overly mad at it.
