Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on Wii U? Possibility?

Wow it's cool man nobody is telling you to get a wii U. This isn't the console wars forum.

Even though I'm looking forward to Wii U (especially new new smb) I also play and will continue to play on all other platforms as well. They all have their benefits and personally I don't see the point of siding with any mega-company.

I think that if there is significant interest in ARR that it would be nice to see it on several platforms, including the Wii U.

I would rather first see a native GNU/Linux client. I believe that would cause the game to be available on all kinds of platforms without SE needing to do any more work themselves, as the GNU community is well known for making things happen without monetary compensation.

I am not quite sure why people so dislike Nintendo, but they also said that the Wii would flop because it "wasn't for gamers." I do not seem to remember any Xbox or Playstation system being consistently sold out for over 16 months consecutively.

People are upset at Nintendo for not buying High priced third party exclusives. They just don't realize it. The reason Xbox has so many exclusive games and add-ons is not because it's the most popular. It's because Microsoft literally buys them. Nintendo realized this time, if they are going to want third party support they are going to have to pay for it, one way or another. Now we have Bayonetta, ZombieU and the Real Ninja Gaiden 3 exclusive and Third party companies working on Smash Bros, Metroid and Star Fox.

Don't worry though, the last laugh will be Nintendo's when 720 requires a two year contract and PS4 cost $600 and the human eye can't regester the Difference between 1080 at 60 fps and 1080 at 60 fps.

To the people that say the Wii U won't even last till the released of ARR, go try and Pre-order one right now, good luck with that.

I waited outside the GameStop near me at 9AM on the 13th. Got inside at 10 and asked about preorders while the Nintendo conference was starting. I then put some money down on a game I didn't want, so the GameStop worker then switched my $50 towards the preorders the next day for the Wii U. I was the first one to preorder one. Lol.

I know that, i was trying to prove a point on how stupid it is to change something that is a standard. could you imagine if that was a real gimmick? i know there is a cult following of apple but you have to draw the stupidity line somewhere.

One could argue your point however with the Nintendo 64. It tried to stay with the standard cartridges instead of moving onto the CD platform that has much more memory (at the time), and it backfired on Nintendo immensely. The industry requires Innovation to both thrive and survive, weather or not it's a cheap gimmick or a sound choice.

In Nintendo's case they wanted to stand out from the competition and try to attract more customers to their product with the more casual and user friendly interface. Apples "gimmick" was similar by making a very user friendly phone, which at the time made them stand out above other phones. Frankly the only difference between the introduction of the Wii and the iPhone is Nintendo's still trying to bring people something both familiar and completely different to enhance peoples gameplay experience, Apple comes out with a slightly better phone every year and has done little to really innovate their product beyond standard upgrades.

Either way, I'm pleased with Nintendo's improvements and new goals to try and pull the more hard core gamer back over, though I loved alot of the games that has been released on the 360 and PS3 I can't afford their higher than average prices nor the poor quality that causes them to break down so often.

I think it could be an interesting way to play an mmo with paddles like that especially with battles and maybe with crafting lol , but I think it would make it too complicated unless they put a small keyboard on the controller

Just like any other console, it can bring up an onscreen keyboard when text input is needed, but since it's coming up on a touch screen, you can type on it (It's almost large enough to type semi-naturally). For this reason The Wii U is the only console platform I'd consider playing this game on. Even then, PC would still be my main platform, but I could see using the Wii U.

Not to mention you can already play those thing with controller just fine.

Also besides inputting commands via buttons and pad there's also the possibility of plugging in any old keynoard in your home. In the unlikely event that you'd really want to.

Personally I'd rather chat via screen like in XI using the chatpad.
