Is the horse in the black desert trailer doing a power slide? LOL. Shes trying out for fast and the furious medieval.Functional gameplay doesn't require bad graphics. It however may require a powerful computer, never does it mean you cant have gameplay.
SE may be out of resources to make better graphics however.

Not saying they should look exactly like those. But SE isnt as far as it thinks in "best graphics evaah MMO"

Basically, it all comes down to this:
No matter how good the photo quality is, I don't want to stare at a thousand photos of the exact same red brick.
Do you?
We'll take it into consideration.™
I'm sorry, but wasn't 11 like that too? You have mediocre/garbage gear and you're considered crappy anyway, regardless of skill.
For a while during TAU I had to rely on LS mates to get me merit PTs because my WAR didn't have Haidate or Hauberk, due to me maining PLD for events.
To this point XIV has become more skill based than XI, but what we know of the combat changes make ARR look like a kiddie game. TP is now handled for you. You no longer have to consider recast timers, and you're locked out for 3 seconds, lessening any gap in technical speed between players. You'll never have to worry about positional combos again, save for the opening direction.I'm sorry, but wasn't 11 like that too? Unless SE is holding back a significant twist for battle in 2.0, the skill component is going to be compromised even beyond XI, and XI had other redeeming qualities that XIV has never achieved.

I'm honestly surprised there aren't some more serious threads on the battle changes itself of late. In the end what's decided for the battle gameplay will run the extents of animation -- the more popular area of complaint, so if only for that reason alone you'd think more people would be trying to get suggestions and feedback out there.
I wish I had some ideas already that I could put up, but it'd really help to know the sort of composition between basic and elemental, affected and affecting abilities in ARR, and so on. But, right now, it feels like Rift with a likely poor sense of ability tiers (and thereby little to compose 'tactics' or advanced 'rotations') but with a sluggishly long GCD, despite that speed was their primary concern.

Hate to burst your bubble here on skill lock outs... almost every game and mmo has them even some fighting games. Unless you want the current mess of hey I did all these skills during my Simian Thrash but I can't move and will be stuck for another 10 seconds. By all means create a whole new post so people can wish for bad mechanics.
TERA, I know the game is bad in many many ascpects, is pretty much a hack/slash style mmo. They hide their "skill lock outs" within the animation, something SE needs to learn to do. One skill you slash while in the air taking no damage while your in the air.Another one is where some skills you will take less damage while doing that skill/animation. This method allowed them to build in flashier animations that lock you out but have a benefit for that lock out. The mindset used behind skills in FFXIV do not tend to follow that. The only skill there is in the game really is how to manipulate latency to your advantage.
I.E. I did a rear attack combo on you "wwwww" and you didn't turn around. Looking at you Riot Blade.

It really looked like both of those korean games used the same graphics as TERA.
The TERA graphics are nice in some areas.. but the trees (the leaves) and the graphics of the characters imo isn't that great.
I prefer Final Fantasy XIV's graphics over TERA graphics any day.
The characters look so much better in FFXIV![]()
