Maybe it was me, but i really couldn't see anything wrong with the old trailer.
What were people unhappy about?
I like the new La Noscea ^^ and the water texture. damn i cant wait longer to play 2.0 Cross my finger to be Alpha tester x(>.<)X
this trailer i think suffers from low settings & not being finshed i doubt it looks like that maxed out win finshed.
theres no atmosphere'ish effects in some of them and look plain compared to the trailer before it.
The knit pick bitch list:
Character models are still down a grade - pretty sure Yoshida said skin/hair filters are missing.
Uldahs grass is a confused brown green, its neither green blades or brown blades its both green and brown in all locations of the blade.
Besides the buildings in the back Limsa is still exactly Limsa, and it has no grass (not counting 2d textures) which is awkward as uldah is packed with grass.
Water doesnt look that good... Looks like WoW's old water. Or Oblivion's. (Also something Yoshida mentioned that would be changing - awesome news)
Saturated colors which makes it more WoW-esque.
Chocobos took a hit as well. But that might also be a part of the missing filters.
All flora (leaves/grasses) are still extremely pixelated and two dimensional. - Though the flora in the water scene #5/6 look like they are alright.
Lighting is harsh - however proven from alpha to beta of 1.0, this is something we are able to expect to improve. Possibly with ambient occlusion and other things like DoF. Obviously in a later stage of alpha we have seen them add god rays (effect of light shining around leaves making rays) and really great shadowing.
