Could a rep please close this thread. It is a duplicate of ARR-Gil-Cap-Reduction.

While you're predicting the future, could you tell me the next lottery drawing numbers? That'd be great!

Just think, come 2.0 we will be able to add "I remember when Gil was worth ten times what it is now and we could be billionaires" to our repertoire in "Remember when" threads.

We have no idea how prices will balance out because it will depend on how much gil flows into and out of the system based on the areas Square controls.

All we know is the initial market will be rocky and expensive.

This topic will still have more posts than most intelligent ones do.

    That's just how GD works.

what everyone needs to realize is that the economy will change in 2.0. alot of items will change in value. some things that people blow gil on today will not be items they will blow come 2.0. we will have some items go up in demand and the prices will change.

the market will have to find a new price for each item in 2.0 let's take 3 examples of an item that costs 1k now.
    1. the price may carry over due to the demand staying the same. it will cost around 100 gil.
    2. due to less income people stop buying the item so it will fall. the item may not sell for anything over 50 gil.
    3. due to less money people buy more of the item because it's needed. it may cast over 500 gil.

one of those 3 things will happen on every item in the game and it will not be an exact science on which drops and which go up in value. however, those that have been following trends in the game and have been going patch to patch paying attention to who has been increasing and decreasing will have more of an idea on what to invest and get on the wards quickly. with the gil conversion each person will have about the same buying power overall in 2.0, but that's not to say the one item you want to buy you will be able to buy the same amount of.

if you have 1 mil now you go down to 100000. some items you will be able to buy more of due to changes in demand and some you may be able to buy alot less. the average will still be the same, but it won't be on each and every item.

I seriously dont understand why this is being beaten to death, raised from the dead, and beaten again. If you have sand in your panties over this, spend all your gil before 2.0. The market will balance itself out, its just gonna take a little time to stabilize.

Protip: in the time you spend complaining about losing gil you could be leveling DOH or DOL or stockpiling hq mats. those of us who do this arent worried because we can just make the gil back.

it's fear and perception that has these posts coming up over and over. that's actually why i posted right above you about he economy changing on each item. the change makes the gil now exactly like the gil in 2.0, but mentally people see smaller numbers so they stop buying certain items as frequently. that fear and perception of having less(even though it's the same) will increase the demand for some items and decrease it for others.
